I was able to just purchase it directly through them on the product page, just make sure you select Aluminum for black paint/chrome and titanium for the titanium otherwise it will say unavailable and direct you to Popflash. Also can use code "KEITHWEE" to shave 5% off the price.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to share the look with the wide-open pop of the pre-FLE. The AA’s rendering has always been a bit too “characterful” for my taste.
Anybody have a picture of what a titanium lens on a silver body looks like? I have a black and silver body, titanium will look great on black, just not sure about silver
I'm interested in buying too but doesn't buying directly from them expose you to paying whatever the tariff is at the point in time that it is imported into the USA?

Not sure there is any other way. The Popflash link seem misleading (1. Because it’s not there when you click it, 2. I emailed pop flash directly asking about this lens a few weeks back and they made it seem like they won’t be carrying LLL moving forward. Perhaps it was a mistake link to include on the page by LLL.
A Faithful Homage:
One of the most celebrated and sought-after lens in photographic history, the 35mm f/1.4 Aspherical “11873” faithfully pays homages to the original double-aspherical optical concept while bringing modern advancements in rendering precision, distortion control, and chromatic aberration reduction.
Enhanced Optical Performance:
Optimized for contemporary high-resolution sensors, utilizing precision-molded and manually polished aspherical elements to deliver exceptional sharpness and tonal accuracy.
Advanced Materials:
Employs newly developed Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) and Achromatic elements, together with a refined aspherical surface, to minimize distortion and diffraction across the frame.
Signature Rendering:
Maintains the classic and sought-after “glow” characteristic at f/1.4 through the use of lanthanide-infused optical glass.
Comprehensive In-House Production:
Every mechanical and optical component is designed, manufactured, and assembled entirely in-house, ensuring consistent quality and craftsmanship.
For anyone interested in the new Light Lens Lab 35mm f/1.4 Aspherical "11873", you can get an extra 5% off using the link below ... the discount will be automatically applied at checkout:
Hello,
I have a question do you think this would be a good lens to replace my Nokton 40mm f/1.2, given that I’m using a Sony A7Cr with a Techart adapter?
My main question is whether the Summilux still performs well on a Sony, given the thicker sensor stack—at least in the center and mid-frame.
I’m not sure what to think, but a Summilux at this price is very tempting!

Sorry about that, it has been fixed. Please order directly from the website.
Hey David, when will more photographic samples be posted?
It's a little hard to tell from the images that you shared (via the LLL website and IG), but the lens appears to have a dreamy/glowy/soft rendering at full aperture. If I remember correctly, from the Leica Historical Society/Macfilos article, Mr. Zhou mentioned that as one of the goals of subsequent prototype revisions:
"Following our rigorous testing and reviewing, there are many improvements and considerations we felt were not given to this initial prototype lens. We wish to improve several factors for the production version (things such as colour fringing and rendering). One major factor we want to improve with the production copy is the out-of-focus / bokeh, to give more of a “glow” at open aperture."
I can't help but wonder if that was a quality of the original Leica lens (I have never owned an AA), but based on the few photos I've seen on the web (on this site and others) it does not draw particularly glowy (it looks quite sharp). So, I am left to wonder is it just the images you have shared, or is that how the LLL Aspherical draws?

fwiw, the 11874, Summilux ASPH, is not particularly glowly, so I'm not surprised that the 11873 AA isn't as well.
If you haven't seen it, Leica Miami did a comparison of the 35mm Summiluxes in the past. They show samples of the Double Aspherical (AA / 11873) at the 1:16:16 mark:
In the lens description LLL writes:
"Advanced Materials:

In their description, LLL says the lens "minimizes distortion and diffraction", but that's probably not what they meant. ED and achromatic elements can reduce distortion and color fringing, but they don't actually affect diffraction. Diffraction happens when light bends around the aperture blades, and no glass formula can stop that. Perhaps the use of these elements just help maintain sharpness and contrast, so the image looks less affected by diffraction, even though the physics hasn't changed.
But, many of them that were shot on film (from their website) have this beautiful softness to the rendering. My 11874 doesn't draw like this (it's crispy)...and from Shawn's AA vs 11874 thread, it doesn't look like the Leica AA does either.
Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful rendering, but I would like to see more samples to determine if this behavior is normal for the LLL Aspherical.
I'm trying to pin down what kind of rendering this really is.
To me, it looks mildly sharp but lacks some contrast at it's point of focus. Like it's hazy... It has nice separation, but maybe a touch of busyness in the bokeh?
Curious how others read it: what's your impression of the optical "character" just from this image?

This is so digitally manipulated I don't think its really fair to judge lens character off it-

There will be a review coming up on Monday. With more reviews coming periodically.
That’s exactly why I was asking for more sample shots. Fully aware that the preorder phase has only just started and that those who already have a final test copy are probably still bound by their NDAs.
Right now, the samples aren’t very telling — they could show anything or nothing in terms of character.
All the more exciting that there’ll be more material coming on Monday 🙂 Hats off to LLL for being active here and engaging directly.
I’m grabbing my 1.7 Ultron now and heading out before sunrise to wander through a fog-covered city ✨
Have a great Sunday, everyone 📸😉
