I remember some members switched orders from black or chrome to Ti, so would they have received the front ring with the more minimalist ASPHERICAl akin to the original AA. Or I'm assuming the DUAL ASPHERICAL / CHINA markings is the additionally profuced and/or China domestic market copies. Furthermore I know LLL offers custom front engravings too.
I’m wondering how much smaller this lens is than the Zeiss 1.4 ZM and how much bigger it is than the Leica FLE. I really love the image quality of my Zeiss, but due to its size, most of the time it stays at home.
Just took the Light Lens Lab 35mm Double Aspherical out today for a short walk about, and I’m pretty happy with it. Center sharpness is really good for me, even wide open, and it feels totally usable as a daily lens.
For the price, it’s kind of a no brainer. Compared to what a vintage Double A Summilux 35mm goes for, this is only a fraction of the cost but still delivers very solid performance.
The sound is gone when the hood isn’t fully seated. Once I fully seat the hood, the rattling comes back.

Congrats! Mine did rattle a bit initially too, but funny enough it just went away on its own after some use. Didn’t do anything special.

Robbie Sumantri‘s short review is out (he tends to be pro LLL):
He says there is a painted Titanium aluminum version. That's not correct based on Fred's communication with David right? I don't think all the pre-ordered Titanium version is full titanium.
That was the original rumor I mentioned but some members reported that their /998 copies weighed the same. Technically, it'd be easy to offset weight differences with brass. Guess there's no way to know unless a full breakdown or side by side comparison can be made.
The clarification seemed to be mainly on the serial and batch nuances.

I just got clarification from David. He said there is no painted titanium version, every titanium limited edition is full titanium alloy.
