One of the amazing sights on Long Island South Shore is when the coastline is lined with migrating Sanderling Sandpipers. So many little bids chirping can make quite a sound and there an incredible sight as they run to and from the waves to feed at waters edge. Every once in a while they take off in unicent and that's special.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris

I’ve been back to this littered beach several times since I last mentioned how much garbage people leave on it. Including last week when despite how few people were there I, of course, saw empty beer bottles and later an empty beer can while moving between what I’d guess are around seventy-five or so Oystercatchers toward the west and hundreds of Black Skimmers lined up into the wind down toward the east. I did not see all the garbage that is usually observed in the fences but I attribute that to the decline in humans post Labor Day not to any change in human behavior. Oh and some of the few people you do find apparently feel the prominent “No Dogs” signs may be ignored after Labor Day.

It is amazing how filthy the NYC Metro area is. It's one of the first things I notice when returning from traveling. I'd be a big fan of fining the people that litter yet it dose not seem to matter to most people. I appreciate that you like the first. It gives viewers a feel for what it's like.

I enjoyed all these little ones in the groupings you caught them in Morris. Numbers 3 and 4 catch my eye but again all were enjoyed.

Thank you Karl

Really beautiful set, enjoyed the first two a lot, they are quite unique and so interesting. Good on you.

This one snuck by me Morris, I like the first one, it's like they are lined up getting ready to march, that and the inflight patterns they make when grouped tip to tip.

I’ve not seen trash left on the beach like it’s routinely done at Nickerson anywhere on the North Shore of LI or any beach on the South Shore east of Nickerson (e.g., Jones Beach, Fire Island, Hamptons). It’s a total embarrassment for Nassau County, the Town of Hempstead and most especially Long Beach Island where most of the Nickerson beach goers are from. And another complaint: they have these huge nesting colonies and take the effort to put up and move the symbolic fence lines during the season but they allow various town and county vehicles to ride back and forth all day long disturbing the birds.
Great set of images Morris, but that second image is the one that kept my eye coming back. Great angle and composition on that shot. The first shot looks like an army marching forward. Well done Morris.
