Indeed. I've spent a lot of time out there, including poking around in ever less known areas of Mono Basin. You, too, perhaps?
What a lot of people may not realize is that sunset photographs at Mono can often be pretty tricky, especially when clouds over the Sierra are involved. You have to get it just right — which I think you did — since the really big, impressive thunderstorms often end up blocking the most interesting light, and because the mountains themselves tend to throw parts of the lake into shadows well before actual sunset.
