What a naturally beautiful woman Derek! Extremely pleasing on these olde tired eyes! Reminds me of one of the Celtic Women fiddlers!
She is beautiful!
Super compositions Derek!

Thank you, Dan. She is an exceptional young woman, and hopefully I will work with her again.

Overall great images and a really pretty girl, but the one dab of shiny eye makeup is very distracting.
Thank you for commenting. I gave up a long time ago being distracted by anything that people do to themselves so that I might always see through to their beauty.
Lovely photos Dneufarth. If you don't mind me asking, is there a reason why you picked F2.8 for all of the photos? (Except one)
The reason I ask is you consciously stopped down, so you weren't necessarily trying to shoot maximum shallow DoF (which I appreciate!), but I think you could possibly fine tune an image or two. My minor nit pick would be photos 10 versus 11. In photo 11 the shallow DoF adds to the image and makes a lot of sense. In photo 10 I'm not a big fan of one eye being in focus and the other soft. The eye looks more hazy than clear so you don't get to see the beautiful brown as well on the right eye. I'd love to see if you did that pose and tried playing with the aperture a bit more to see if there is another setting you like better. I like photo #1 because the DoF is less pronounced between the eyes, but you're still getting a subtle effect. I think photo #6 is another great example where it works as well as #1, but then in say photo #4 it might be better if it was stopped down a touch more. All said, great images and I can't wait to see future work from you!
Can't beat a beautiful freckled redhead, wonderful smile as well.
Very nice pictures and I'm sure she loves them.
1, 3 , 5 are my favs and love the black and white.
Although a tad out of focus, 10 is killer.
Gorgeous!
I really like the half face ones, with the fiddle and with the white line. They leave me continuing to look and continuing to want to see more.
Out of curiosity, what style of music was she playing?

I met Sydney playing her violin at a public event, we agreed to meet later for a portrait session at the library. C&C always appreciated.
Derek
These are wonderful portraits Derek!!! One is better than the other. My favorite is the one of Sydney lying in the V of the tree and looking skyward. I'm sure she was thrilled with all of these.
