p.1 #1 · Leica SL with the 400mm f6.8 Telyt with pics
Leica SL shot with 400mm Telyt f6.8 ( shot with 350mm f4.8 profile) . The results are superb - great Leica contrast, wonderful Leica colors and sharpness.
I used both Leica adapters R to M and M to L.
The 400mm Telyt is so cheap to acquire nowadays and it's hard not to get one . I'm used to the button + slide focusing and the distance traveled is not as bad as the old 350mm f4.8.

I also have used this lens with SL and the combo is not very heavy with the adapter. The image quality of the lens is very good, similar color profiles as many Leica R mount lenses as. Leica also made a shoulder stack for this lens which makes shooting more effective, but looks like shooting with a gun.

I also have a 1971 example and it is still in its original Leitz Wetzlar box with shoulder stock. Box marked with a diagonal line against Part #11960. Mine also came with a Leitz 2x Extender, for R non-APO. However I do have an R APO 2x extender to try this out with the lens.
Thanks for this thread as I have not used it in many, many years. Just might bring it out now.

Looking into picking another one of these up since I grabbed a nice SL recently. I used a 560/6.8 for several years adapted for my Canon DSLR's and always found the images so good.
