It was a once in a chance photo on a trip I did last year. Sadly after I was able to get close to the wild mustangs with my mk2 and 24-70 every tourist in a motorhome came running with a P&s to take the same picture.
I am enchanted by this image. The location feels completely exotic to me (I live in tiny Switzerland) and the inclusion of these two horses adds marvelously to the strangeness of the scene. Thanks for sharing and for the link, I enjoyed your gallery of the trip very much. There is another beautiful image, with a very nice perspective, of a horse whose photo was taken from behind.

Great shots, especially the ones with the mustangs! I also enjoyed the lightning one. In regards to the ones with the wildflowers in the FG, I might have gone with maximum dof to get everything in focus.
It's so good to have my new computer running so I can look at cool photos again. Reminds me of all the places I want to shoot! Monument Valley is definately at the top of the list. This shot has an ultra clear feel to it that is very unique and quite appealing. The colors are very vivid. This shot has got to be a blend of 2 exposures...or shadow recovery? Fill me in here. I enjoyed the gallery as well.
....even more! The cloud shadow falling across the face of the monument adds a little drama. And the 3 'stangs not dominating the scene quite so heavily give a better sense of scale.....imo, anyway.
Michael,
Don't give me the "sadly" comment. This image and the ones in your gallery are stunning. Great work. I especially liked the lightning shot. I'd like to capture one of these in my lifetime without getting killed. Good work, thanks for the post.
