I just bought a Meike AF 85 1.8 SE II for $200 to use on my 5D II. There was a seller who had the EF 85 1.8 for $160, but wouldn't sell it to me because I only use Zell or cash, in person. I can see his point; I only have 95 Great Feedbacks and been a member for only 21 years

Jim..I NOW asked if the seller if he/she will take my personal check!
He can hold the item until the check clears the proper 1-2 week period versus the "quick" 2 day "clear.
So far I have been lucky and my last few purchases were by check. I have NEVER had a problem paying by check..
Glad you got something that encourages you to get out and shoot with!
I have been dying to get into Bawlamer for a few days of shooting...being a caregiver hampers that..not complaining, just sayin'..
Summer is my "down" season.. I can't take Maryland's heat and humidity!!
I turn my yard into a botanical garden so I dont have to go "out".
Mostly macro in my immediate area unless the City of Frederick as something going on.
But my point being...I have bought something "new" and that makes me go out and test it!
Stay cool brother!!
Dan
Dan, I've paid by check and also accepted checks in the past, and if the seller was established, I would send the gear the same day I received the check.
I like the Meike so far, especially wide open.

Yup! I'm still runnin' my old 5D3 with a slew of L glass from back in the day.
Finally modernizing my bag with an R5mk3 and looking to pick up my first RF mount lens, but have been getting some good success with an EF-RF adapter w/ the control ring.
Still trying to re-train my muscle memory from the 5D3 with the extra wheel on top, and the myriad of new AF choices...
Getting there, but I'll hold onto my EF glass for a while...
I switched to R-series (R10) maybe a year ago. My original intent was to use EF stuff, so I got the kit 18-45. Insufficient. I mostly used the 18-135 USM on my 90D, so I forked over the cash for the rf 18-150, and sold the 18-135. And the trend continued. I love the smaller/lighter RF lenses. The 14-30 is a perfect replacement for my Tokina 12-28, and it saves more than 1/2 the weight. Sigma 8-16 is a big heavy monster, the RF 10-18, not so much.
The EF lenses remaining in the closet are: 70-300 II. I don't use that often enough to justify spending money to replace it. Ditto the Sigma 150-600C. Lastly, I still have the EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro. I consider it, for absolutely no reason at all, a better lens than the 85mm f/2 IS STM..
Apart from my Canon system I shoot with Sony as well. For the latter I am considering the upcoming 50/1.2 from Viltrox. Having said that I don't need it because the tried but true 50L is still humming, especially with the R6MKII.
