Recently, in Costa Rica, two new Agami Heron rookeries or colonies have been discovered.
One of the colonies has at least a thousand birds nesting as I write. This is awesome, as this is one of the shyest herons. Due to their dark green color and slow movements when foraging, they are difficult to spot, even when close.
