I worked with this same model in studio a few weeks back, and we decided to do a follow-up shoot, this time outdoors using only natural light and a 5-in-1 reflector. I used the white side for some shots and the diffuser for others. There’s a small wildflower field near a local community college I’d been wanting to use, so we made it work. The location is tight and close to buildings and other clutter, so I had to be careful with angles. The shallow depth of field helped a lot. You’ll notice a shift in lighting in the last few images. I like both looks for different reasons, and since this was more of a casual, creative session, I wasn’t focused on matching light across the whole set. I just worked with what was there in the moment.
I don't see that any of these are throw-aways, and a few of them are for sure very much a keeper. The 3rd might not be a real winner, just depends on if you like her looking away. The 4th and 5th are nice wide environment ones that are appealing. Not sure the last one works, given the others and what are. Nice colors and DOF control to include some of the flowery field...
These are extremely well seen, composed and photographed Daniel! #'s 4&5 I see the lighting against this fair skinned young woman might cause some issues but you handled them very well. Yes the shallow dof really helps! Just beautiful photography Daniel! You done gud brother!
