Does anyone have a recommendation on a hiking back pack? The large items would include 600mm f/4 TC VR S / 24-70mm f/2.8 S / 14-24mm f/2.8 S / Qty 2 Z9s, filters, batteries. It must be able to side mount a gitzo tripod carbon fiber.
Also 1 for carrying on airplane. It only has to hold all 3 lens and 2 camera bodies. Thx
I personally use ultra light packs from ZPacks and Japanese brands Yamatomichi when carrying normal loads. To carry a 600mm f4 as well as real outdoor equipment I would probably use my large Gregory pack.

Are you looking for a true hiking pack that you can then sort of modify into a camera backpack with some ICU. Like an Osprey or Gregory etc?
Or are you looking for a camera bag company that tries to come close to an actual hiking pack?
I don't have any experience with the true hiking packs used for camera carry.
For camera backpacks that try to come close to a hiking pack and can carry a 600TC and the other lenses/bodies I'd first look at the Nya-Evo 60C with XL RCI. This would also be able to travel onto planes...allegedly.
You could also explore F-stop and Shimoda bags. I have mostly F-stop bags. My largest bag is the Ajna with the XL ICU. That may fit what you require but I'm not 100% confident it can fit both Z9s and the two other lenses next to the 600TC.
If you mount one Z9 on the 600TC (hood reversed of course) that may fit on one half of the ICU as my A1 mounted on the 600GM fits. Then you would have room for the 2nd Z9 and those two lenses in the other half of the bag. The ICU will be stretched a bit trying to get Z9/600TC on the one side but it still may work in my experience. For an easier fit the Nya-Evo is probably a better choice.
I did just notice that they must have just released a new version of the 60C (version 4) and that is likely why they are clearing out the last version. So supplies will be limited and currently only the blue and green colours are left on sale.
I use Mindshift Firstflight 40L or Mindshift Moose Peterson MP-3 when traveling. Both will take 600/4s TC.
MP-3 is the lightest but is only ok for traveling on a plane with some walking. I don't think it has enough support for day long hike. FirstFlight will be more comfortable to take on day hike but it is also heavier. MP-3 also has no slot for laptop or ipad which is annoying.
Shimoda is by far the most comfortable backpack I have. However, you will need their largest pack which is Action X70 which can take their largest core to accomodate 600/4s TC. The smaller X50 which can take large mirrorless or large DSLR core unit is too short for 600/4s TC. Unfortunately Action X70 is too big for some airline cabin especially low cost airline. It is a little over an inch longer than what most airlines allowed for carryon. I am very tempted but the pack itself is also almost 4 kg.
PS both bags I own will fit 600/4s TC by itself, no body attached to the lens. If I don't travel with supertele lens, I generally prefer Shimoda backpack for comfort.

Could you please send me a link where they mention any new version ... I am considering to get on of this bags
Never mind I find on European site .... Still heavy Weight: 2400 g / 5.30 lbs and price increase from $419 to $449

Have you used either of these? Was looking at those Nya-Evo 60C (version 4) also...
No I did not... I used f-Stop Loka UL which is almost the same like this Kashmir Bag ( but this new materials are better )
About Atlas and Nye Eco I read a lot as I am thinking about one of this 3 for myself (Atlas and New-Evo are way overpriced in my opinion .... I am using now Osprey UNLTD 32 l which was one of the most advanced hiking backpack a year ago)

I have the Kashmir Air 2 and it won't fit your 600TC with the recommended ICU sizes (L and smaller). Now I was able to stuff my XL ICU into it and then you can fit a 600TC but I don't think you'll get both Z9s and the other two lenses all in there.
I did own the Atlas Adventure which is larger than the Athlete and there is no way you'd fit your kit in the Athlete. You can fit the 600TC into the Adventure but again I don't think you'll get your entire gear list in there.
Even though I haven't owned it (yet), I do think the Nya-Evo 60C and XL RCI is your best bet to comfortably fit what you want. You could also look at Shimoda as they have some new bags and bigger ICUs now.

1) Do you think I can easily carry 10kg( 20 lbs) in Kashmir Air 2 ? Does it feel strong enough - I like the price and simplicity of the pack
2) Do you think Atlas Packs are worth this high price tag comparing to f-stop or even Shimoda ?
3) Nya-Evo 60C may be interesting option
I will take a look at these Shimoda packs as well thank you!!

Shimoda x50 is too small for 600/4s tc. The large mirrorless/dslr core is 15.8 inch long but 600/4 without hood is 17.3 inch. You will need x70 with extra large dv core which will weight 4.2 kg combined and it is a bit longer than official airline carryon size allowance which may be a problem with some airlines. I love Shimoda as it is the most comfortable back pack that I have. Once I carry my gfx and Nikon gears , probably over 10 kg in gears alone all day long when I was in Japan and it was very comfortable.
