Some really nice prices on F mount lenses at the moment - super teles and 14-24mm were at 40% off. 500mm f/4E ($4379) and 180-400mm f/4E TC ($4799) are in there at crazy low prices, relatively speaking.
ugh the z30 with the 16-50 has been tempting me for months. I usually use my GR when mountain biking but the z30 is not that much bigger and it would be super nice to have some zoom range...

Thanks to the price increases (tariffs) the sale prices are higher. The Z 70-200 used to be $1599, Z 24-70 2.8 was $1399 but everything is up.
Prices are never consistent sale to sale. 5 months ago the 180-600 was almost $300 more than today.

I've been specifically eyeing it, and like 8 out of 10, these were the prices. I know there are 10% sales, and then there are the 35-45% sales. The 50mm 1.2 S was $1449 now its $1500ish

Well, you said "everything is up" when today had some of the cheapest prices I've seen on several lenses so...
Congrats! I would have definitely picked one up for that price.
---------
The prices on the 600mm f4 FL, 500mm F4 FL, and 180-400mm f4 TC are basically lower than used prices. Trying to resist the urge to add an F mount telephoto lens, while we are supposed to be transitioning to mirrorless lol. Either of the 3 is not much more than the Sony 400-800 that keeps tempting me 🤔
To anyone getting a lens, just make sure to run it through its paces during your quite short return period. I've had to send back about 50% of the glass I get through these sales for various reasons.

Worth noting the boards here have a 500FL (recently serviced) and a 180-400TC currently below $3000 and $4000 respectively which are outrageously capable for the price points.
I already have a 500FL and enjoy it on my Z6. Really going to enjoy it with a Z8. Yes, I'd love a 400TC but for any of us who want fast long lenses and don't want to or can't budget five figures for them, the price for performance on any of the F-mount FL lenses especially are excellent and compatibility with Z is great.

Just picked up a Z5II for $1349, with the new price increases coming I grabbed one now.
Did exactly the same. The price was great, and stupid tariffs are a motivator.
Initially more order wouldn't go through so I had to call them in the morning. Apparently having the audacity of having it shipped to my office, we here people will be there to sign for it tripped the order up. Why have bill to - ship to capabilities on the website if that is going to hang up the order? The rep said that because they had no way of tieing me to my office a dress, whatever that means. I have worked there for over 20 years. I told him to hire a programmer from Amazon for the weekend and problem solved.
His name was Mathew and he was very helpful. I don't wanna sound like a Karen here, we were both chuckling.

I would guess that most if not all refurb items were in the states before any tariffs were in effect.

Nice price! I'd love to hear your thoughts (if any) on this lens and how it might compare to the Sony 100-400mm GM and the 200-600mm G.
Though I've bought the 200-600G twice, it never stuck. I'm not sure it's fair to compare it against the 100-400GM for a few reasons, mostly because the 100-400S exists and is better than the Sony in every regard
As usual, Nikon's refurb packing is a bit suspect. 180-600 did not ship with a soft case, which surprised me a bit, since it's just as much about packing/transporting it safely as it is about carrying it conveniently. Lens didn't have enough bubble wrap to keep it from moving inside its box, and the larger box didn't have enough padding to keep the smaller box with lens from moving around. Overall, 5/10 effort by Nikon here.
In early testing, the lens seems weakest around 400mm pretty consistently. Luckily 500-600 is pretty damn good, which is where it will mostly live.
