Another day, another Osprey encounter. This one briefly appeared, then left, then came back and made an unsuccessful dive before being chased away by some small birds.
Very cool Stan. Was that a self drive or did you hire those drivers/rigs? I hope you took some cool portraits on those dunes. Did you by chance make it to Skeleton Bay? As a surfer, it's one of world's best waves I haven't been to yet.

No, we did only the diamond coast, we didn't go to skeleton coast. This was purely a landscape trip. We did see a few zebra and giraffe, and of course some delicious Oryx. We drove 500km thru the dunes, not sure about portraits but there are a few photos of me packed in a heavy jacket and gloves and hat
This was not a self drive but they do self drives too. The dunes were just a 5 day part of a 16 day trip so while the driving would have been fun, it would have been impractical for the other aspects.

Wow! What a absolutely stunning image Rob!
I agree, they are gorgeous critters. How did you manage to get close enough for a shot like this?
Wow!
Thanks Dave. The foxes are in a back yard. So we had a few areas to shoot from. There was one bedroom window to get shots. I had a great area in some rocks where I could stay low and was little movement right across from where mom liked to lay down and sleep. One corner of the house worked well too. It was a lot of waiting and little shooting for sure. But well worth it.
