2650, Said it was brand new never used. After testing it I agree. Also a USA version not grey market. Have been testing it for the last few days. Looks absoutly perfect so far. Also I have bought a 500/4, 300 2.8, 7DII from e-bay and all have been absolutely perfect. Picked up a brand new 400 DOII when it first came out for 5000 dollars in Malaysia years ago. Just as a side note. I got a 30 day return time for the camera if I find something wrong. Pristine.
Bought a 512 Gb memory card from e-bay 149. And card reader for 23 dollars.
Read an article about the Canon R5 II battery from Canon, I will have to see if the one from China will work properly. I have not gotten it yet. The reviews say it works flawlessly. Yet to be determined.
Now my kit is a 500/4 II I traded for with my 500/4 in Thailand. It was a hot lens (as in everyone wanted it in Asia) and I got 2500 more than I paid for it on e-bay. A 400 DOII from Malaysia NEW. The Ringett tanked and I ordered it the day after that and saved a ton of cash. 7DII and 18-135 on e-bay for 800 dollars. Now my new R5II pawn shop, Adapter for my lenses e-bay, I thought it was used but turned out to be new. I may be living on borrowed time but so far I have never had one problem.
My birding kit. I decided years ago buying new was a huge mistake. About like buying a new car. Just throwing your money away. Even it you have it to burn a foolish move IMO. But, I am a birder not a gear-head. My hobby is travel. But, when I can I enjoy photographing the birds sometimes.
Dought it will happen, but I told the gal at the pawn shop to keep an eye out for a Canon R1. I am curious.
So one of you rich guys please pawn your new R1... hahaha
Note: The camera was still on firmware 1.0.1, one of the reasons I bought it. Looks like Canon is starting to cripple the camera in firmware updates.
Honest people aren't pawning their new R5II's in the low 2K range and R1 owners surely aren't pawning their R1's. That R5II you bought is hotter than Georgia asphalt. Sounds like the pawn shop owner isn't the sharpest tool in the shed either considering she gave up an extra $500 (easy) to sell it elsewhere.

Disagree, people all over buy these things and cannot afford them. Like the market, people get caught up in the hype. Then end up loosing . Retail sales are the same.

Anyone with half a brain who bought it new and can't afford it surely wouldn't dump it for $1200 less than what it's worth as they would need to get every cent back out of the sale. And if they wanted a quick sale they could dump it same day for much higher than you bought it for. There are tons of user friendly web platforms to unload gear these days so there's not many reasons to dump it at a pawn shop for such a loss. Hard to believe a pawn shop owner could be so clueless too by selling it for way less than she could easily get it for.
If you were happy with the 7DII in 2025 then you'll be happy with the R5II in 2035. So no matter what price you paid for it you won't be losing as long as you are using it.

Do you not understand that everyone does not want to deal with the public? There are too many crooks and dangerous people out there that getting more money is not worth the hassle for many of us. It's not like a real property where large amounts of money are involved. Even so, who has never in a lifetime decided to short sell something for expediency?

So it was you who pawned the new R5II for $2200??
Well, you know there are tons of other options to sell where you don't have to meet someone face to face and worry about getting robbed? You could even sell to reputable outfits like MBP or KEH for a lot more than that.

Joke of the day! These things loose value extremely fast. Biggest joke IMHO is the R1 price. Saw an R5II and the kit lens go for 3400 last week on e-bay. You just have to jump on the deals when they come. Especially on e-bay if not satisfied all you have to do is send it back for a refund. I am amazed at the people that think if you don't look for deals you are getting screwed.

Why not? I had a great experience. Got to look at it, check it out. And got a 30 day guarantee? I think I will go back to the shop and ask what they do to make sure it is not stolen. I would think before they buy an item they have to have your ID at the least. Also I bet they have a network where they talk to other shops. Think I will ask about that also. Never dealt with a pawn shop before but after this it is definitely a place to check with.
