Cool shot Dan, lots going on there and a nice medley of color!
Thank you Scott!
It was very early in the morning and the "butterfly house" is a bit cool. The butterflies were still a bit "groggy" and not flapping their wings the way I wanted. The very large "Mournful Owls" have 2 completely different color patterns on the recto(top view) and verso(underwing) views.
The large "spots" are said to be a defensive "owl eye" pattern to discourage preditors while the top side is a beautiul blue.
I am in Reno for a military reunion so I will post all views when I get home on Monday. There are 7 different species of butterfly here!

Unusual and interesting.
Thank you Peire!
The vibrancy was what caught my eye at first.....the brown of the "Mournful Owls" , the "browning fruit" , quieted that down a tad. The other "guests" were a welcome addition.
Love the local butterfly summer show.
