p.1 #1 · Daredevil

I was amazed at the athleticism of this skateboarder as he practiced this feat. He kept repeating the move with different degrees of success for about 30 minutes, never missing getting over the top bar. He continued until the restaurant whose ramp he was using called the police to complain.

I thought for sure, he would alight back on board and carry on, Steve!

That was his goal Douglas, to land on the board and continue on, but the 15 minutes that I watched him, he hadn’t succeeded. The biggest problem was avoiding the pedestrians walking on the sidewalk. He started his running approach from the far corner and had to wait for an opening in traffic to avoid colliding with anyone.

Thanks Bill. There's a door right there at the top of the ramp which serves as a service entry into a restaurant. Fortunately no one opened the door from the inside as he was about to jump the rail. It would have been curtains for him.

I expected to see him land on the board also Steve! His form is perfect!
Hopefully he will continue to try and make it!
Great action sequence!
Dan

Post reply...you 2 should have set up a date in the future to try again..give him a chance to perfect his coordination and you memorialize it.

On a 30" calibrated monitor, these images are so much nicer!!!!
Usually my initial comments are with my morning coffee on Suzanne's Mac laptop.

Thanks Dan. I find that also, how much better things look on a larger monitor.

Your comment much appreciated. I watched this skateboarder for about 15 minutes. Although he didn't land if perfectly, he made it over the top rail every time, an incredible athletic feat.

I am impressed with both your images and his ability. I thought for sure with that short ramp, he'd be kissing the ground.
Well done!

What's interesting that you don't see is that he started sprinting from 1//2 a block away, building up momentum, before then stepping on his skateboard. He was fearless. Thanks Carol.

These are a terrific sequence, nicely captured. Your subject very athletic, that would be no easy feat. Looking at the shots up to 4 I thought no way he and the skate board get over that top bar.

Thanks Dave. As I first watched him, I also worried that there was no way he could get over that bar. He was extremely athletic, and as I said, daring. And he just kept doing it over and over again. The only thing he failed to do was to make a perfect landing on his skateboard, and that's why he kept at it.
