A friend of mine plays in a 7 piece jazz band. Yesterday the Brooklyn Music Conservatory was celebrating Spring with a series of concerts on the streets of downtown Brooklyn. It was a warm, sunny day, with music in the air. It gave me the opportunity to photograph Andrew in action.
I am bassplayer since I was 15 Steve.
These compositions instantly brought a smile to my face! A "classic" as we say....Accomplished musician to say the least, Andrew be!
He and I could be "brother's from a different mother"!!! Glasses, "follically impaired" Well aged>/// I have small fat hands..fat small fingers (from my Italian heritage), as it appears he does.
#2 is a focused musician!
I want his t-shirt!!!!!
The warm bellowing tones from a standup-bass is another world away from my "electric" daze.
Thanks for a look in the mirror less his "pedigree" of course.

Nicely done!

Ansel Adams believed that there was a strong connection between music and photography. Not surprised that you are a musician. Agree, I loved his Tee.

Next time I'm up there Dan I'll take a shot of the Brill Building for you. A lot of music history in that building.
Steve
Indeed!!!! It was a hub for young musicians in my day. Not just songwriters either.. Many great memories from there. The entire bldg was music.
Thanks!

Very nice, Steve, I really like your processing and the intensity of expression and interaction between man and his instrument in the second.
Douglas
Thanks Douglas. When I sent the photos to my friend Andrew, the second one was the one that was his favorite. I'm making him a print that he's going to hang in his practice room.
