#5 is always in front. I suspect because he's more senior than #6? Routines can modify/add/drop based on weather conditions and airport layouts. But they announce who's coming from left and who's coming from right on each of those maneuvers. So if you remember #5's name, you can track it based on the announcement. Or if it's one cross right after another, you could also keep on tracking #5 if you can.

This little guy in the first shot is the reason why we shouldn't speed. The little dummy was just hanging out in the road, he wasn't concerned about me or my truck. It was a fun day out as I had hoped to capture some shots of pronghorn in the area. I ran across a number of them, here's a few to share.

Very nice set Doug. If I was still with Sony, I would consider that lens also. Of course I could use it on my Nikon Z8 with the adapter 😀, but I already have the Z600 and Z800 lenses. The Sony 300 2.8 is a nice lens also. I was holding one at Conowingo and it is nice and light.

Thank you Laslo! I love my 300 GM. I haven't touched the 600 GM for a while. Hope Sony will make an 800 f6.3 like the Nikon 800 PF.

Thank you Robert! 400mm IS not wide enough sometimes, especial for formation shots, Some of the Thunderbird 360 Diamond Formation shots were clipped, even at 400mm. I think it also depends on the show location, if the front row is close to the runways, 400mm is too long. It really is a trade-off between the 200-600 having 200mm at the wide end and the 400-800 having 800mm at the long end. The Canon 200-800 is a great range but I read turning that thing from 200 to 800 and vice versa is a chore. The Sony 400-800 is a breeze to turn.

Thank you Scott! I do have a Flickr "pro" account where I can post high resolution files. But I have been too lazy to visit Flickr and upload pictures. I do enjoy viewing the high resolution pix on Flickr.
Some Thunderbird pix from the same show at Langley. Sometimes the heat shimmering just ruin you shots. The Thunderbirds paid their respect to Rob Holland by flying the missing man formation. I did A2A with Rob Holland last year. He was perhaps the #1 aerobatic flier in the world.
