The issue we are having at our local estuary is an abundance of ravens and crows. Every time the shortie or harrier comes out to hunt they are being attacked by the ravens/crows. This has led to the shortie coming out 20 minutes before dark.
Doesn't help that they placed the municipal dump in close proximity to the estuary.

I haven't even looked for owls yet, it's been way too warm this fall.
Today, they're calling for record highs in the 60's, in November, in Minnesota.
Next week it should return to more normal temps, the rut is winding down, and owl season will begin.
I did spot a couple of owls in the past week, both in nesting areas from last year.
This barred owl will be in this former nest every day for the next two months.
Did it for the last three years, figure it will be the same this year.
Their latest nest is about 150 yards away, is a tree along the river's shoreline.

Several years ago at Serengeti NP, I could not get any decent leopard images no matter how hard we tried. A few that we encountered were hidden in a tree and barely visible. Fast forward to South Africa more recently, at Mala Mala camp to be exact, we found plenty of leopards and to our delight, they put up a show, too. It happened right in front of my eyes and captured using a GM 70-200mm lens, anything longer would be too much. Where did the action lead to? I leave it up to your imagination since it didn't take long for the male to withstand that kind of temptation...
