got my first Sony body in March 2025 after being with Nikon for about 1.5 years, and Canon for about 2 years before that
some of these are posted in the 300GM/600GM thread, but this one is a lot more lively
very happy with the performance of the A1 II + 300GM + 600GM
Very nice set, the loon shots are my favorite. I saw that you are moving back to Nikon. I like the 600TC and 800 PF but am not a fan of the Z9/Z8, tried them for a couple months and sold them.

Recent shots of hummers from my yard.
Nobody wants to sell any Nikon gear, so it sounds like I'll be with Sony for the near future
FWIW, I think Sony beats Nikon in pretty much every facet except value. The A1 II bodies are so stupid expensive, and have a few really annoying features/bugs/missing items you'd expect of a $6500 body.
I love your hummingbird shots! I need to work on providing more flowers at my place to attract them.

Are you using a strobe on those hummers?
No, all natural light in the morning. I have a hummingbird flower bed and also 12 pots of flowers that I can move around to get the best light and cleanest background possible.
Here are some from this morning. The dark background is just some dark trees about 20-25' from the hummers, in situation like that, I use exposure compensation -1.5 or even -2. One thing I like the most about Sony cameras is the easy access to the EC dial, no need to press this, then turn that kind of hassle.
