Nope, same size difference just with a thicker border. I'd say it looks about 25 - 50% bigger in the viewfinder. I just have never seen this in any other Z camera.
Curious to know how does the VF behaves when you follow action especially for horizontal movements like BIF or kids biking. VF (and may be LCD) can't keep up with movement on Z50 II because of slow feed. This make Z50 II useless for action. Is Z5 better?

I picked up a Z5 II yesterday. It seems like a really nice camera. The only thing I noticed is when you use a single AF point, it looks larger in the viewfinder than on the back screen. I have never seen this on any other Z cameras. Has anyone with one noticed this?
Just replying to my own question. I went to a store and compared the store demo to my Z5II and the store demo Z6III. The AF points in both Z5II viewfinders (but not rear screen) display slightly bigger than other Z cameras. I have no idea why and I don't know if this is just display or if it matters for detection.

In single point AF, mine looks the same on my Z5ii as my Z6iii. It may be a bigger square in the VF than on the rear screen (in both), but it’s not very noticeable to me. In AF-S, there is also a pinpoint AF mode, which has a much smaller square.

Yes, single point is larger by about 25%. I am aware of pinpoint, my point was the points are bigger in the viewfinder than the rear screen and other cameras. I have compared it to the Z6III, Z8, and Z7II which are all the same size and smaller than the Z5II. If you look closely you will see that wide area small and wide area large are also larger in the viewfinder. Is this a critical flaw, no, it's just something I have not seen on any other models.
