Well, it sure shows you knew what to do when you got there. 😁 it’s great that you got to have this opportunity and it was there just waiting for you. The shots are really beautiful and it is a magnificent bird isn’t it? Congrats!
Well, that's some great pics for a first encounter! Got to love hitting it out of the park on such a special occasion! All great pics...colors, details, and composition, but the first is my fave of the lot!

This is a very nice image set... I really like the "death stare" portrait at the end of your selections.

Thank you all for the kind and encouraging words.
With regard to "composition," usually I find it a struggle to get sufficiently high "pixels per duck" and I am at maximum telephoto. In this case where I was so close (I think many of these were were shot from about 50-60 feet away), i could have zoomed wider to take in more of the environment - but the environment was urban/industrial just beyond the immediate area. Hence the mostly tight framing. There are some photos I got of the owl in flight hunting, nearly hovering, with a static display of steam locomotives in the background. So I've been telling friends, "hey, if you love old trains and owls, I've got some photos for you!" (In actual fact, none of them show the locomotives nicely enough to be worthwhile in that regard.)
