I, too, went to northern Minnesota for the owl irruption of 2024-2025. This GGO is one of a few that took up winter residence in Two Harbors, on the north shore of Lake Superior. When I arrived, it was perched on a rather unphotogenic chain link fence; nonetheless, I was delighted simply to be in its presence. Over the next hour, it continued with its hunt and offered an embarrassment of photographic opportunities. I can still hardly believe it.
This is my first post on the N&W board. Thanks for taking a look.
Congratulations ! I thought for sure this was going to be the year I was going to make that trip. Looks like I missed out on a great season. Very fine set of images. Must have been really exciting.

That last image is over the top, congrats!
Thank you all for your kind words and feedback.
sum1sgrampa, it's only a three hour drive away for me and yet I may have made it up only just barely before the end of the season. I was worried that my stay would be too short and I would get skunked. I feel very lucky!

Great shots. I especially like the last one and that menacing glare.
Thank you all!
It seems to me that most GGOs have faces that either look fierce/angry/menacing or surprised/worried. I was pleased that this owl was one of the former.
When I posted this observation on another social media platform, someone added "3. bored." or as I would say, those raptors are feeling "owl-nui."
