Same - very weird. Also not seeing it on Amazon. Guessing maybe it's to do with the fact that it isn't coming "soon" (which is a bummer). Wish I could get it in time for summer.

It (the 50) is still listed as coming in May at the Cosina site:

Part of the message I received from B&H
"This is either a holding status that will be updated, or it may have been done because the web team intends to make a replacement product page for some reason. I will check with our buying team to see if they can provide some insight as to what is happening, but I will not likely hear back from them until tomorrow at the earliest. "

B&H's response today is good news
"It looks like the discontinued status of the lenses was an error. We have updated the product pages and the lenses can now be pre-order from the product page. "

Been testing the 50 ML for a few weeks now and it's become my all time favorite 50. Even sold off the Summilux CF even considering the giant volume difference purely due to glorious output. Still like the Nikon F Otii cause can use as 1.4 tilt-shift lenses using Fotodiox ROKR adapter. Unfortunately, I dinged up the shell on the 50 with the spiky hood from the 28 APL since they are close littermates now (color and rendering match is great). Regarding the long focus throw on these, I just pre-zone the general distance based on what I want the composition ratio to be ahead of time, then fine focusing after is quite fast and accurate. For video I would use one of my many auto-LIDAR gear focusing units though for solo operation.

Posted a few hours ago from Maconyan.
thank you, was looking for 85 review
she compares the Nikon 50 1.2 S against the 50 ML here:
some screen caps below but original youtube degrade, then degrade a little again when i screenshot then jpged
I think for moving subjects GM 50 1.2 and Nikkor 50 1.2 would be better. For slower work or tripod work, I'd choose 50 ML due to its pretty compact volume/IQ ratio.
There was one comparison from Slanted Lens for the GM 50 1.2 vs Otus 50 ML but I couldn't really see a difference there because the tests were kind of inconsistent.

I've never seen one of her videos before. It was good, except for the strange... sighs? Whatever that sound effect was.
The sighs are likely from whatever translate program she uses. You'll notice there are times she is talking and there is no audio translation.
I saw her 50 review when the Otus 50 was announced. She not the type of reviewer one expects given she introduces herself as Sword Photographer and cosplayer. I don't follow her but this was the 2nd time I stumbled upon her review of Otus. It is ironic that she is the first to post on the 85, thus I expect more reviews to start posting.

Zeiss ought to do a Cooke Optics and see if they can trademark the term '3D Pop', since they themselves are actually using it a lot these days: '..a picture look is created that appears almost three-dimensional - the characteristic ZEISS 3D Pop'
Many would surely welcome 'The Zeiss Look' TM. The firm has their manufactured model of 3D reality to defend, one where all that matters is located on the focal plane! Honestly, it would make a cat laugh.
Inadvertently I watched this one, here is a short summary of the MAP translation:
'The lens construction is an 11 minute 15 appointment design'; '240 degree' focus throw; 'of course it has high performance because of its high price'; 'you’ll want a better grip than the Zf so please consider it'; '5:40 for examples, see the rapid fall-off'; 'the remodelling of the parts in focus is high'; 'if the blur is too loud, it may stand out and the subject may not stand out if it is blurred significantly'; 'the detailed car body has fine bokeh (it’s a bunch of flowers) – the depiction is well-balanced'; 'this lens has excellent three dimensionality'; 1060 grams.'

Anyone actually own the 50?
I want to try one even though I don’t think it will be worth it-
The size being a huge factor- Also owning the 50 Lux, not sure how this can top it.
I may snag one at Adorama in town later this week and test it out.
I have the E-mount version of Otus ML 50/1.4. I like it a lot, but I also have the trio of CV native E-mount options CV 50/1, 50/1.2 SE, 50/2 AL. All of them have their unique appeal. My current favorites from the 4 are this Otus and CV 50/1.
Otus 50mm is a bit on the big & heavy side on my A7CII but still manageable. I'm not planning to buy the 85/1.4 due to size and weight though, and I use 85mm a lot less than 50mm. Will be interested in possible wider angle options if they are released in the future (such as 28mm or 35mm), if the size and weight are kept at same level as on the 50mm or (or smaller/lighter).
