Those have been the major players so far. I suppose I should mention the "Miniature" Speed Graphic - 6x9 cm sheet film.
And of course lots of glass !!! Now I am saving money for a digital SLR (EOS) mit crop factor 1.3 - means an EOS 1D Mark II because an "EOS 3D" has still not been launched on the market (money money..)

A few Canon P&S film cameras in the 80s and 90s. Film to drug store for development
Canon G1 in 200? - Whenever it came out. Got tired of taking accident and crime scene film to the drug store. This camera still takes great photos and is currently "on assignment" in Scottsdale NM with my dance partner. 265 large jpegs on a 512 card. Ya can't argue with that!. My favorite photo was taken with this camera and is on the wall.
Canon 10D - soon after it came out. Had the money for body and lenses and wanted to be able to take better photos fast before I got kicked out of where-ever I was i.e. motel parking lots (drug transactions); business establishments (slips and falls); etc.; etc.
Canon 1DMKII - about 6 months ago. Why not?
Canon 1DSMKII - in about a year when they are available for 1/2 the current price. I'll sell the MKII for 2000 - 2500 so it will only cost me the same and that may be it for me. (Guy will have it well tested by then )

early 90's: A samsung P&S
1999 Minolta 404si, given to my father
2001 Canon powershot G1, not used since april 2004 (see below)
2002 Minolta Maxxum 7 (back to film, what a blast ), still in service.
2004 Canon Eos 10D (arrival in heaven ), under heavy use.
Hum, looks like the last few years saw quite a lot of change... I plan to stay at the 10D level for some time. My bank account hopes so.
PS: John, I think the G1 was released in 2000. What a good camera it was at this time. Even now, it is a decent P&S.
