Love the pictures esp the silhouettes of the guy with the dog on the beach!

I would enjoy some of them even more if they were less heavily edited though (or in a more natural style). Esp some of the local adjustments are a bit much for me - looks like the backlit rocks are bleeding darkness

But as I said, love the images, so hope you don’t mind the editing critique

So I think I know the one you are talking about- The one with Julia written in the sand?

It was just there- My wife burst into tears immediately- So I agree its pushed a bit to much but I haven't wanted to spend the time to lighten and darken certain areas in post etc etc.

I do agree its way overcooked but it is what it is

Thanks for your thoughts though!

You're going to develop new skills and techniques while you use the camera. Some of these will carry over from other equipment you're using, some will be Hasselblad specific.
Another consideration is to how to get the most from it? The M11 and the current crop of new lenses produce some stunning images and you're stepping up from that.
You are fortunate to live in a state with so much natural beauty and much of it within a short drive. Have fun with the new adventure!

Many times I will increase contrast and saturation on my XCD-100c images without skin tones. I also like to enhance skies by using circular polarizing filters, and sometimes I will alter the sky in post. My primary interest is shooting my M11 monochrom. I purchased the XCD for color and sometimes I prefer more subtle colors, but sometimes I like bold. Unless you’re selling what you’re shooting, why please anyone but yourself?

This isn't the camera for me; I have the GFX system and IMHO it's plenty enough slower than a Canon RF or Nikon Z system to make you think differently about how you set up and shoot, but without going quite as 1980s in AF and losing the IBIS which is so important with this pixel pitch. (Although I will say that I thought it was just "styled" like a V camera; I had no idea you could actually take the back off and use it with my 50x camera. That is kinda tempting.)

Still, wanted to comment to say beautiful photos and you're doing great things with this camera already!

Which lenses did you acquire?

Agree with grip comment.

I had MANY old CF lenses and with the adapter they are fun to use on the 907/100C. The 100 and 180 are exceptional. The 350 offers a nice reach.

I grabbed the 25 XCD and the 90 XCD- Will also decide between the 38 or 55- Most likely the 38 though.

Congratulations with the purchase!

I received the X2D on Monday. I was in no particular hurry to move on from the X1D II but with potential tariff wars on the horizon I decided to pull the trigger.

First impressions are very positive. It is in all possible ways a better version of the X1D II. The IBIS is amazing and the autofocus is improved as well. The only downside is the increased weight.

I have the last weeks of the year off. I will be traveling probably with the 28P, 38V and 75P. I have 9 lenses but I use the 38V probably 85% of the time.

Have fun with the 907x!

Yes- I love the XPAN format. Such a unique perspective and its making using the 25 XCD my favorite lens!

I love the 907x 100c, use it mostly with the 38v.
Got 45p initially, tried the 28p but too wide for me.
38v kind of a sweet spot for the form factor..

Been tempted by the grip as well but not pulled the trigger.
The camera+lens fits nicely in bags / car center console / etc as is, so protrusions probably would hinder.

It's sort of an unorthodox camera these days, a bit like shooting a digital M, which I also do.
The focus is good enough for static subjects and basic street photo, which is all I need.
Essentially good enough that I can take my mind off it and "focus" on composition, which is how I look at it.
If I was shooting sports/birds/etc it would be straight to the top of the line Sony/Nikon anyway.

That is my most "probable" kit (on paper). 90/3.2 is a maybe in there, too. I had the 45/3.5 and 80/1.9 with my X1D II ... 80/1.9 = awesome BEAST.
Probably not getting the 80/1.9 on a future redux with Hassy.

The tiny 907x needs an “L” bracket for tripod and walk-around use. A perfect fit and build is the Kirk Universal L-Bracket Small. It has a rubberized pad on the bottom for protection, fits the 907x with the back, and has the nice ability to stow the hex wrench underneath the bracket. Add a CAMVATE Left Side Wooden Handle - it fits nicely. It is small, and easily detached for packing. No functions, but helps to steady and carry the camera.

Sounds interesting, but I still like the Hasselblad grip which adds a few functions in addition to being a grip.

First off congratulations on that beautiful camera, and thanks for sharing your thoughts (and images)!

Especially the beach shots are stunning, such a nice vibe, and gorgeous colors..

Those new XCD lenses must be amazing.
How are you finding the manual focus, does it work well, and is it enjoyable?

I shot a lot with a 503cw back in the day, always loved the handling.
When I first saw the 907x /CFV 100c combo I thought "that must be a bit weird to hold / shoot / focus" - from what I've read so far most people really like it though and do not find it awkward.
Still, hand-holding that camera, with 100MP and no IBIS, especially without a grip, sounds definitely challenging.. saw a review of that system the other day where it was said that it's a wonderful walkaround-camera - but that at the same time it's not, as you'd kinda need a tripod oftentimes, and I thought that is probably true (how is high-ISO performance, by the way)?

That menu system / UI is so nice - really makes you wonder why others' (except Leica's) are so horrible

Enjoy that beautiful camera, and thanks again!

Oh yeah, that would have been wonderful.. together with a screen that truly angles 90°, and vertically as well..

You are right about the functions. Oddly, I bought the Hassy grip, but have never used it - not liking the weight. But for functionality, it makes a lot of sense.

I used to own a 907x 100C, but after a few days, I exchanged it for an X2D. No IBIS on the 907x 100C made it difficult to focus in low light conditions, and focusing in general was a bit tedious. I tried using the grip, but I believe it’s only suitable for eye-level focusing. The placement of the buttons on the grip is awkward for waist-level shooting.

I’m thoroughly delighted with X2D so far. It serves as a delightful complement to my M11. Now, I’m on the verge of adding the 90v. I’m currently using 28p (for X-pan and square formats) and 55v.

Thanks Tina-

The MF experience on the V series lenses is really nice so far- The DOF scale is accurate and having it just slide open with hard stops is very nice. My only complaint is the hard stop is not at infinity. There is probably a good reason for this but None that fit my style of shooting.

I would shoot manual only considerable more if I knew exactly where infinity was without having to look at anything. Beyond that the experience is very nice.

My second "complaint" would be to have the control button have the ability to be set to focus to infinity without having the grip installed. Only when the grip is installed can you hit a button and it focus to infinity. Would make night photos/landscape photos easier if that button could be set without having the grip. I did end up purchasing the grip and have found that waste level shooting is actually easier with the grip. I still use the shutter on the 907x back but stabilize with the grip. Works very well but for normal shooting, I still enjoy it without the grip.

I didn't buy this as a camera for connivence though. I have that already. I love the shooting style/experience with it and would highly recommend it to anyone that really loves photography and wants to use a camera differently than others they own.

High ISO is great IMO- I will post some examples later at or above 12800-

Cheers!

Picked up a great copy of the 120 f/4 Planar CFI - Beautiful lens- Playing around with it at home but can’t wait for a portrait session next week on the coast-

ES is going to be a bit tricky to deal with but I know the limitations with it and will be prepared- Manual focus on with 100cf back is really simple-

Really enjoying this camera-

anyone tried the 907x with leica M adapter ? When I put the adapter/lens on, the camera shows "no lens detected" but it is functional with the electric shutter. Just want to make sure it's working fine.
