I wanted it mainly for landscape use and started with the 38V (30mm equivalent) for scanning my 120 film. Now for a trip later in the year I have the 25V (what a lovely wide-19mm equiv) and the 135+1.7x (terrific tele-180equiv). Trying to figure out if a 55V (43 equiv) just might fit in with my kit.(G.A.S.) Yes, I have the Q3 43.
That all said I have more CF lenses (30-500-not 60) than I need with a SA250 CFi in the mix. It performs quite well even with the 2 x Mutar. My CF 350 (203 equiv) is so sharp I almost like it better than any long lens that is MF. Just to get into the zoom mode I recently acquired a barely used copy of the Zeiss Variogon 140-280. It is sharp as many of the primes, but still prefer the 350 for tele work.
A question that some might know. If using a MF older lens and you double tap the screen it goes to 100% (I guess). Is there a way to zoom onto one's focus point even further? It will not pinch zoom for me.

I'm about to switch my X1D II to 907x 100C.
How does the 28P or 75P perform on the 100mpx sensor? What about the AF speeds?
The 28P and 75P are excellent. The only downside is the lack of the focus clutch and control ring. They balance nicely on the 907x. I do occasionally miss the control ring though.
AF is as good as anything on the X system. They’re pretty snappy. But if you judge by small format systems you’ll be disappointed. Sony’s or Canon’s they ain’t.

I have been looking for used 28P for couple of weeks now, and I was just about to place an order for 25V, but there it was today - used 28P in good condition.
I have already spent my yearly budget multiple times , but couldn't resist that one! And I somehow "saved" a few grand obtaining 25V instead. Summer holidays are around the corner and I'm hopefully heading to Lapland and northern parts of Norway this year. Hopefully CFV 100C and 28P will perform well for landscapes
Can't wait to get that lens in my hands. Like a kid on a Christmas Eve.
I played with a 907x+100C today and it's such a cool little kit! I really want one.
The X2D is neat, but I'm really after a different shooting experience and I may be willing to forgo its conveniences for the form factor of the 907x.
I wonder if they'll ever update the control grip thing. The fit and finish felt cheaper than expected and it was odd ergonomically. Why not just paste the grip from the X2D onto that thing? The X2D's grip is best in class.
In 35mm sensor thinking I have found that I can hand hold an unstabilized 35mm lens steady at 1/30th of a sec and get an image sharpness that I am happy with. I might do a burst to get a couple images to choose from.
While the 100mp sensor is less forgiving, there must be some shutter speed with, for example, the 38mm lens, where you are getting acceptably sharp images handheld.
Do you have a sense of what that shutter speed is, or what formula would work (1/2x, 1/3x, etc...)
I feel like with noise reduction improving so dramatically there maybe is a case for using the 907x for handheld work....

I don't think its possible- It was 100% my fault because its obvious it focuses past infinity- I just decided to field test that on the beach at 1230am in 38 degrees
I don't think there is an option for the Auto Infinity finder- There is only one custom button and it can only be set for a few options.
I read through the manual and couldn't find it either but maybe I am missing it. Would be very nice if they had it since in pitch black, its not fun guess with the manual ring.

You need to use a red head lamp for your manual focusing in the dark. That's what I use without issues.
I have had my 907x for a few months now. Some thoughts.
The internal memory is great. Every camera should have internal 1 TB SSD. I haven't purchased a memory card for this camera, the internal space works so seamlessly including imports to my Mac.
This is far more better camera in terms of speed and image quality that X1D II was. I also think it beats my old GFX 50S II, not just by a hint but with a clear gap. But, I somehow liked the display in X1D II better. The display on 907x is not bad by any means, but I just think the slightly larger one on X1D II was still a tiny bit better.
Due the high megapixel count focusing is crucial. I've used some very fast M-mount lenses with adapter and they are pain to get into focus, even on tripod using 100% zoom on back screen. For some lenses it might even be the actual resolving resolution of the lens that comes into play. Even using Hasselbad auto-focus lenses it is very precise to get things in focus that should be in focus.
Regarding the high resolution of this camera, I thought I would crop my photos much more than what I actually am cropping. Post-processed or straight-out-of-camera JPGs are taking like 50-90 MB each, so they are filling my disk space rather quick. It's not a big problem but makes managing the files a bit slower and slurry. But yeah, I thought I would fiddle with the files more than I am.
Speaking of which, the files are very versatile. There's a lot of dynamic range and you can play with quite hard, for example, before the noise hits in.
I would really like to have the back screen to tilt sideways too. If I'm taking a photo in portrait orientation, it is hard to see the screen if I want to take it low. Or high.
I have started to question myself, would I achieve the same results or nearly the same results with some other camera? Perhaps, a full frame camera? There's a unique look and resolving power in medium format images but I have came across situations where I got better results with my Leica (and vice versa!). As a hobbyist (or camera enthusiast, moreso), this is a tough topic, to justify myself to keep two relatively expensive systems in my camera bag. On top of that, I always find some other camera that I inevitably start to crave for. But I've gotten some very unique photos with this system, too, so it is not completely replacable by some other system. But are they really that much different?
As for focusing MF lenses I started using a Hoodman Loupe and it helps me substantially with fine focus after double tapping for the 100% zoom feature.
I joined the club. A coworker and I had swapped my guy's SL-3 and APO Cron 50 for his 907x 100c and 55v over the weekend and made it an official trade yesterday. Rolf is still skeptical of the acquisition, but we both had a good time with it over the weekend, seeing what we could get away with handheld or on a monopod with the remote release. We both love the lens; it's a really pleasing all-arounder. And the results made me wish I'd made this decision earlier in the season when the trees were at their peak.
While my goal was to get the back to use on a tech camera and, maybe, to inspire Rolf to use the 500cx and lenses he inherited when his dad passed (he's shown no interest so far, but once I get the body shimmed properly, I think he'll change his mind) I do think the 907x is ingenuous on Hassy's part. From my perspective, it's a digital back with a little module that allows them to sell me their latest and greatest lenses.
It's working, too. I already hear the siren song of the 25v calling. It'll have to wait until I've got things settled on the tech camera side, but I'm sure it's somewhere in my future.

I think the 38 and the 25 are by far the best in the lineup. The 55v I liked the least-
I really think if I had to have only one lens on the 907x, it would probably be the 25v. That body just really lends itself to shooting a wide angle like that and getting unique perspectives with it. It’s a fabulous little camera! Enjoy

I was thinking the same thing, too, but the lack of control ring has me a little worried. I really like having shutter speed on a physical ring (I'd actually really love it if the 907x had a couple of small, user-assignable dials on the left hand side- then I wouldn't have to touch the back to control the exposure triangle and I'd only touch it to set a custom WB). If Hassy would let us assign different functions to the focus ring for older lenses, since I'm happy with the AF for the slow-to-no movement subjects I'll use it for, that'd be a nice thing.

Just jumped on here. Are you using the grip on your 907x? It adds air+bulk, but I find it gives me more off LCD functions which can be fast once you know the sequence of buttons or dials to use.

Nope. I am considering it, but, like with the 25, it'll have to wait.
