What an incredible set of images - the lens really shines in your hands in this type of setting.
And wow, what a badass your niece is. An impressive young woman!
Thanks, Dave! I appreciate the feedback.
And you are spot on about my niece being a badass. She's an absolute miracle watching everything she does. And no one knows all the pain and effort she has to go through behind the scenes to make it look easy in public. She's one in a million.
Attached is a casual snapshot taken this afternoon of my friend, Tim—made with "new" Thypoch 28/1.5T cine lens. My first image with the lens. Camera A7R5, lens is E-mount.
Already fond of its rendering eccentricities, and 210-degree focal adjustment. Seems, at first blush, that maybe we don't need any stinking aperture clicks. Adjusting wheel stays in place, at least with current sample size of one shot.
Boyish skin on this 73-yr old fellow courtesy of recent 10 weeks of chemo and stem-cell messing in Baylor/Plano Oncology wards.
Best to all.
Jacques
Thypoch Simera 28mm f1.5t Cine—EXIF ambiguous. Aperture between 1.5T and 16T. :) Probably ± T4.5

Nice portrait, Jacques! I’m glad you got your lens. I’m with philip pj that this lens is very good for people and skin. I love how sharp it is at f/1.4 for portraits but isn’t the “crunchy” sharpness some lenses produce. Keep posting images!
sweet. this lens seems to have mystical properties when it comes to capturing people. I’ve not used 28mm much in the past, but I sure have a hankering for this lens!
ah, yes. We have a close friend that has spent much time a Baylor in downtown Dallas fighting cancer. Alas, her fight isn’t going so well.

I took the lens out into the dry desert tonight. I'll post more later. I liked this very interesting cactus with the small bud. Taken at f/4.
Looks good. Almost feel like you need to mark it NSFW though. 😂
One thing I love about the light in Arizona is sometimes, when the atmospherics are right, the whole world is bathed in an orange-yellow glow about 10-20 minutes after sunset. It literally surrounds you and gives everything a surreal appearance. This happened while out last evening. It only lasts a few minutes.
I picked up this lens from Joshua here after reading about it and seeing some of beautiful rendering examples by some you all. I’m loving the vibe of it and need to get some people in front of it. These first test shots are from the A7CR .
