Congratulations to DanielScott for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 2 votes - View Previous Winners
One of my favorites from a session I did yesterday with Bollywood actress Parvati Melton. There are several more great shots from this session that I'd love to share, but for now I have to get through editing and delivering a couple of other photo sessions before I can edit any more from this one.
Canon 5D MKIII, Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 II lens, lit using natural light.
Masterful Daniel!
The timing here is great! There is a movie out now, or should I say a feature video, of Joan of Arc. This is so well done Daniel!
Is that real chain mail? She sure wears it well!

Thank you! I was unaware of the timing, so that's a happy accident. Yes the chainmail is real. It was a collaboration with a guy who brought full suits of armor and swords and other various weapons to this shoot. There were several other models too. I can't wait to edit and share more from this shoot, but it will have to wait until I get through my list of client work first.
Cool shot, I wish the torch was lighting her more, like the sword's flat surface is reflecting, but the chain mail is closer but really cool in comparison. Maybe it's just not as reflective. Still a nice shot.

Thank you. Since the sword has the flat surface I think it just caught the light better than the chainmail did. You can see where the chanmail catches some of the fire light, but as you pointed out I just don't think it's able to reflect the light as well due to it's shape.
