p.1 #1 · Artralab "Nocturne" 50mm f/1.2

The Artralab Nocturne 50mm f/1.2 lens for Leica M-mount is now available. (No affiliation)

It's another Chinese replica of the Leica 50mm f/1.2 Noctilux, offering a more affordable alternative to the LLL version. However, it appears to be available only in brass, which makes it sturdy but also pushes its weight to nearly 800 grams!

Here’s a bit more from Leica Rumors:

It's nice to see that it comes with a certificate of authenticity.
This reassures you that you have the real Chinese replica made in China. Not a fake Chinese replica made in some random place like Germany.

Come on, I know you're eyeing that 'limited edition' solid brass finish (only 19 copies made) to pair perfectly with your LLL 35/2!

I love this company's naming conventions. I'd forgotten all about their Nonikkor 35/1.4. I need to try that out one day.

And, for the record, you really need both the silver and brass finishes, so you can decide if you want warm reflections or cool reflections on your subject, depending on the mood.

It looks like mirrorless shooters (Z, X, and E, anyway) will get their own version of the 8-in-6 design made lighter with an aluminum body and made to look like an AI-S era lens; the Nocty-Nonikkor (seriously love the names).

In case someone else thinks like me and wonders what the price point is - here it is avoiding clicking on several links: $998, $980, and $1145 depending on version (order of black paint, silver chrome, and brass).

I can’t stand limited editions if they of a prime number that is greater than seven. Just how I am.

We need more raw brass lenses. Raw brass patinas really nicely.

I've been searching for it too, but all I found was their previous 50mm f/1.1 design.

Brass is nice, but I understand why Leica chose aluminum for their larger lenses. It can save 100-150 grams in weight, which makes a significant difference.
