I recently got the camera as well... at first was going to go with the kit lens but decided I already had the excellent sigma 18-50mm so I opted for the body only option... so far it seems to tick all the right boxes for me... compact, modern sensor, and when combined with a pancake lens (either 18mm or 27mm) can take anywhere. I may even cancel my X100VI order (which isn't due until August according to BH Photo)!
I got the X-T50 also to use with the smaller primes as X-T5 is closer to A7R III when you add the grip. So far so good with Reale Ace jpgs. I found the animal eye af is even better than X-T5 and X100VI which both got an firmware update last week. I am using X-T50 with lensmate X-T4 thumb grip and the smallrig half case which has a little support for holding. After using lensmate thumb grips, it is hard to use other smaller thump grips from other third parties.
On the price point, companies learned during Covid that you can make more money with less supply as Leica has been doing it as a small manufacturer for years:
My X-T50/16-50 came this morning. I have now set it up and have been shooting some around the house. So far I'm very happy with both the camera and lens. I think this body/lens combination is great!
Congrats on your new camera! It's always very exciting to finally find the gear that ticks all of the boxes for you, and makes you look forward to using it. The X-T50 looks like a very nice and very capable camera with a very powerful sensor. I have the X-T5 with a couple of f/2 primes (23mm and 35mm) and a few zooms (16-80mm, 10-24mm, and 55-200mm) that I thoroughly enjoy using when not using my Canon R-bodies. The 40mp sensor is amazing when it comes to detail and Fuji color has been something that I have admired for years, long before ever owning a modern Fuji body (vintage Fuji cameras/lenses along with Fuji film were a pretty amazing combination!). Enjoy your X-T50 and please share some pictures when you are able. I can definitely appreciate your excitement and jubilance in finally finding 'the one'! Just be warned that 'the one' can sometimes turn into 'the many', as has been my problem over time. Have fun!
Andy, I'm a long-time Fuji shooter and my new X-T50/16-50 is a companion camera to my X-T5/16-80. I wanted something a bit smaller/lighter and already think the T50 was a great purchase.

Hi Andy, thank you so much for writing these words of support. It's so nice to hear from Fuji owners who understand the Fuji advantages!
As for "the one" or "the many" problems, hopefully I will be able to avoid these pitfalls, well.. until X-T60 comes out -- hopefully with weather sealing
Fujifilm did not provide a hot shoe cover in the box?! Now the camera needs to be returned.
Just kidding
But still, what did Fujifilm cheap out on something that would have cost them may be like $0.10 cent to produce in bulk? Is this a common thing for Fujifilm cameras? I have never had a Fuji camera before so I don't know.
They had to save weight, lol! I figured you didn't notice it in the box but I looked it up and its not included. I would agree, odd omission. Maybe you get one of those cool brass ones with Mt. Fuji on it.
Sorry for bumping this thread but I’ve just bought an XT-50 with the 16-50mm lens, my first Fuji and a return to zooms after 5 years of only using primes. Main purpose is as a camera to take hiking for landscape photography (including infrared). I’m not bothered about lack of weather resistance - I’ve been using cameras in rainy conditions without any IP rating for years without a problem.
For those who purchased their XT-50s a few months ago, do you have any tips to share on setting up and using the camera?

X-T50 is my first Fuji, so I found Pal2tech's X-T5 setup on Youtube having some good tips. Hope this helps.
