Today, Leica has announced an upcoming price increase going into effect July 1, 2024.
At Leica Store Miami, pre-increase pricing will be honored on any in-stock item up until June 30, 2024.
I'm failing to understand what Leica Store Miami is honoring - the fact that they will not increase the prices until the date when Leica said they will be increased
How mighty generous of them
I actually picked up the Leica Q2 again. I tried not to like it, but I do.
I think I like the color output from this sensor, as the images feel similar to those from the SL2. Leica made the Q2 so much more usable with the latest firmware updates, adding highlight metering, EyeAF, and more.

The q2/3 are amazing man-
The just work and output insanely good files. It’s easy enough anyone can use it, but enough depth to really create some magic with it.
Don’t try the Q3- The creature comfort upgrades for travel make a big difference
Look at the 35 Lux FLE II….$600 increase. Over 10% increase. 28 Lux/50 Lux ‘only’ $200 increase, wonder why such a large increase in the 35 Lux. Anything special about the glass?

Haha, I tried one in the store, but I'm good.
What I like about the Q series is that you can use it fully automatic or, if you prefer, set the ISO and shutter speed manually. You can check the meter in the EVF, focus manually, and the focusing action feels just like a classic lens.

Yes same glass as the 35 FLE (v1) which is also a great alternative for those who don't need the LV closer focusing. Personally I love the rendering of this lens.

Have you ever compared to the ZM Distagon? Am I missing out? The size difference sure looks noticeable

The 35mm Summilux ASPH FLE II is simply my favorite lens of all time. I use it for more images than any other lens.

I have both. The Zeiss is a match optically - it is superb - and it is much better with handling flare. But I cannot remember the last time I used it because it is so big. On an M it blocks 1/4 to 1/3 of the vf depending on where you focus. If you use it on a mirrorless camera then of course no issue. And I’ve noticed that those who claim it isn’t too big are using it on a mirrorless.
Compared the my FLE the focus ring in the Zeiss is less pleasant to use. It has a weird dragging dampened feeling as it is was lubricated with molasses.
I’m assuming the big increase ($600) for the 35mm lux asph fle v2 is due to the fact that it was for some reason priced cheaper than the v1 asph fle lux.. so maybe this is to make up for the previous price discrepancy between the v1 and v2.

I think what they're saying, in a roundabout way, is: no rain checks. They could say that, but it's certainly not Leica-like.

I think the actual template from Leica to the stores was:
"At Leica Store <insert your location>, pre-increase pricing will be honored on any in-stock items up to the day when they become more expensive. We don't have any stock anyway so whatever you order will be with the new higher prices. So in the immortal words of Nelson Muntz... 'Ha ha'."
Thanks for this. I have the ZM 35 and the Voigtlander 35 Ultron II because of the size, but I’d much rather have one lens that I would always take. I have zero issues with the optics of the ZM 35, as good as any glass I’ve ever used
My usual street and travel kit. When I travel I throw extra batteries and a charger in the bag. Nice and compact. No need for anything else because it all fits the way I see and work.
