Latest PetaPixel episode was shot on "Redacted", Maybe this thing is finally coming.
I saw that recently as well on that PetaPixel vid. Truth is, these guys like PetaPixel would know more as they'd be invited to events a few week(s) before announcement so they get to test them and make their review video.
New update from NR, now stating Bad news: Adorama and B&H are closed next week, low chance for Nikon to introduce a new product (Z6III)
In a way, makes sense as BH and Adorama would be losing business to others. Unless, this is just a development announcement? Lets see

I doubt B&H would loose much business. The tax advantage of the Payboo card for a purchase of this magnitude is sufficient and makes it worth dealing with the idiocy that is Commenity Bank. This time around I have around $2k of Best Buy points that I have no alternative use for, so I will probably be ordering there when they list the camera for sale... if I talk myself into the Z6iii instead of a used Z8.

I specifically remember a major Nikon camera introduction during a religious holiday in which B&H was closed but I don't remember the date or camera.
It would surprise me if a manufacturer were to show such favoritism. Nikon has an entire dealer network that they need to treat fairly.
Given that the demand will be high and early availability of the cameras seems to be rationed, I don't think BH or Adorama will end up losing any sales just because they're closed for 3 days. If anything, they will still make the sales and ship a few days later.
I don't see Nikon delaying the release of a camera just because a couple of dealers have 3-day holidays.
On a website devoid of many sources, NR will seemingly do anything for clicks/adviews/revenue. This was easily debunked and last I checked, Nikon is a Japanese company, not a Jewish company.
The discussion in the other recent Z6 thread with folks who either know sources old/new or chat with dealers is frankly more likely to provide any news of interest than nearly anything coming out of NR.

This is just Nikonrumors being Nikonrumors. They don't know anything and have now made 3 different announcements since March that the Z6III was coming out and in each instance they were wrong. They are the most clickbaity of the camera rumor sites.
I am more charitable. More often than not they are right. The Z6iii is the first time I can remember they have misfired repeatedly. But they have not been alone, virtually all prognosticators with a decent track record have been repeatedly wrong on the Z6iii timing. Plus, you have to read them as entertainment, not a source of hard news.
If the low light high DR performance rumor is correct then I am sold. 700-750g weight is in line with the Z6ii on the low end of the range and just an ounce or two more in the high end.
The Nikon ℤ6 II is expected to be the best camera in its category
Nikon model N2214
New 24.5 MP BSI sensor specialized for low light and high dynamic range
New processing engine (EXPEED 7?)
6k size 6048 x 4032 full-frame 12-bit NRAW
4k60 full ProRes RAW
Full HD movie at 240fps (8-bit crop)
New higher resolution EVF: 5.76m dot
Improved vari-angle LCD screen
14 fps mechanical, 20 fps electronic shooting (RAW, 14 bit)
120fps stills jpeg
37-120min record time
1/16000 shutter speed
Mechanical & electronic shutter
293/297 AF points
Updated focus algorithm (better than ℤ8/ℤ9?)
Near 100% AF coverage of the frame
7 or 8-stop VR (same system as the Nikon ℤf)
Pixel-shift (previously reported here)
CFexpress+SD memory cards
PSAM Dial
Hybrid body design between the ℤ6 and ℤ8 (bigger than the current ℤ6/7 but smaller than the ℤ8) – see this post
The playback button is in the same place as ℤ8 (bottom right), as opposed to ℤ6II, which is on the top left side of the camera
Camera body size and overall dimension are similar to the Nikon ℤ6II: 3-5mm longer width becuase of the LCD hinge and a few mm thicker
The overall height (bottom to the EVF) remains the same but the actual camera is 2-3mm taller
The grip button layouts and design look similar to the Nikon ℤ8 apart from the command dial which is the same as the ℤ6II
All other button layouts are the same as the ℤ6II
The ℤ6III logo is on the top, just like on the ℤ8/ℤ9
ℤ logo in the front is also like the ℤ8 but below the current ℤ6II focus sensor
The ℤ6III body overall is about 30-40g heavier than the Z6II
The ℤ6III body inherits the design from the ℤ8 – this is why a few months ago I reported it as a mini-ℤ8 (the Nikon ℤ6III is a mini ℤ8, the Nikon ℤ8 was a mini ℤ9)
USB-C 3.0 (SuperSpeed)
HDMI A version 2.1 (full-size HDMI)
WiFi 2.4/5 GHz, Bluetooth LE Connect support
Better ergonomics compared to the ℤ6
New cooling design
Weight: 700-750g
Battery EN-EL15
Nikon MB-N14 battery pack
Several new features not seen in other Nikon cameras, including online firmware updates
Price: around €3,000 in Europe (less in the US)
Official announcement: next week (June 10-12 )
Shipping is expected to start in mid-July.

Well, I never know how to take these rumors, but if any of it is to be believed the "6K FF 12-bit N-RAW", "24.5MP BSI sensor", "5.76MP EVF", and "14-bit RAW" would be enough to have me reconsider the Z8 as my intended entry point into Z-mount!
Now, we've got to get Nikon and Sigma to work together and bring Sigma's latest DN-model HLA-focusing-motor lenses to Z-mount! Not being able to shoot the 60-600mm DN, 14mm f1/4 DN, and 20mm f/1.4 DN (just for starters) on Z-mount has been a deal-breaker for me and makes my moving off of L-mount untenable...and that needs changing, pronto! So, c'mon Nikon, c'mon Sigma, let's rock this party!

Thom Hogan also said that a Z6iii is around the corner.
He has had his fair share of misses around the Z6iii too. The latest one was before going on his annual "digital detox" when he predicted that Nikon will be making a camera announcement during his absence.

The one fly in this ointment is cost. A minty Z8 can be had these days for $3k all-in, and that usually includes an L bracket and a few extra batteries. A new Z6iii will probably cost more by the time you add tax, L bracket and a few batteries. The one and only thing holding me back from a Z8 is size and weight. Back in late 2018 I was content with my D800E and had no plans to move to Z. Then I happened to be in a BestBuy store that had a Z6 + 24-70/4 on display. The size and weight advantages were striking. Then Nikon announced the 14-30/4 and that tipped me over, because a D800E + 14-24/2.8 + Wonderpana ND filters is one unwieldy beast.
Those rumored specs would be a nice middle ground for people who don't want the Z8 but want great non-stacked performance. Sounds like it would find a place nicely between the ZF ($2000) and Z8 ($3000) somewhere around $2500.
To me that basically nukes the idea of a Z7iii because good luck convincing anyone to pay more than 3K for a camera that is worse in every way except megapixels to the Z8.
I don't think it matters if the Z6iii and Z8 work out to roughly the same price, because many potential Z6iii buyers would never buy the Z8 no matter what because 1) they don't want the form factor and 2) see 1 again.
