You might be right, and this might be the new standard at Leica now. But a dealer who has been in Leica's Portugal factory, and tried several copies of this same lens told me that some lenses had loose aperture rings and some others had normal feel aperture rings. Therefore, I thought there is still hope.

You, and others that have not had the "loose aperture ring" issue just confirm there is no standard, at Leica, wrt this lens' aperture ring. Probably because it is a "cheap lens in Leica terms", as some have said.
Maybe it is the right time to look for a v3 E46 pre-ASPH. Or buy nothing at all. (I have the C-Sonnar and an APO-Lanthar should arrive on Monday - so these should cover both ends of the rendering spectrum).
