Fuji GFX 100S II + Viltrox Canon EF to GFX adapter + Canon 40/2.8
The Viltrox adapter works really well with this combo. The Canon 40/2.8 is the only Canon EF lens I own so I wasn't going to spend the big bucks on the other AF adapters.

Jeffrey - Beautiful capture! Tell me, is the sunstar of this lens typical? It looks great. The reason I ask is that so far, I have been disappointed with Fuji GF lenses in this area. I have the 32-64, 100-200, 23, 45 and none of them produce sunstars like this. Thanks in advance.
How does this lens do with covering the 44 X 33 sensor for macro work? Do you ever have to crop to avoid darkness in the corners? Are the corners noticeably less sharp in some images? I like these shots a lot and I have always liked that lens and wondered how it would perform on the bigger sensor.

At MFD it hard vignettes, but I don't often shoot at MFD. As you focus further away from MFD, it slowly disappears. I have found that at the focus distances I tend to shoot, there is no mechanical vignetting. It takes a bit of stopping down for the corners to sharpen up though.
This may be worth a read, Jim Kasson used an extension tube, I assume, to get around the vignetting when focusing close.

Thanks Tim. I did read Jim's posts on the lens on his blog and that had me thinking about the lens, but I very much appreciate hearing about your experience. It is a shame that it hard vignettes at MFD, as one of the advantages of this lens over some other options (e.g., the Fuji 120 f/4 macro) is that at MFD you get 1 to 1 magnification instead of 1 to 2. As Jim's post points out the Fuji has limitations with tubes that are more than I would have expected. Right now I use the Zeiss 120 f/4 APO macro made for Contax 645, so it covers the image circle really well and provides 1 to 1 magnification when I really need it, but I am also looking for a lens that has a bit wider aperture and perhaps a bit better performance at wider apertures, so it is good to hear how the Voigtlander performs. Thanks again for your thoughts.

I also have the Mamiya 120mm f/4 Macro, which obviously wouldn't vignette. But I generally prefer the output from the Voigtlander when shooting at distances that don't vignette. It's also a much more compact lens.

I also had the Mamiya 120 f/4 and it is a very nice lens. As usual I like the choices you have made and I really like your images as well.

Thanks Steve, my choices are often informed by people like yourself, here on FM. (And a little bit of maybe randomness and willing to try something.... ). I enjoy your shots as well, and you shoot a lot more macros than I do!
