These actually have me seriously looking at the 250F4. I'm never getting a 135 equivalent, but these look great to me.
I really love this lens. I also have the 200 f2 and it is incredible in how it renders, but it blows out the backgrounds so much
that you lose context.. ends up looking more like a studio shot. My son pointed this out as he prefers more of the background to give the viewer a sense of the environment. The 250 f4, has great blur yet it does not completely blow out the background into a big blur. I hope all of this made sense..lol

It does. I have the 200F2 as well and mostly don't use it for portraits because of working distance reasons, but yes the 200 blows out the background, a lot. I want the 250 for compression reasons and something tighter than the 110. The examples I've seen out of the 250 for portrait work kind of actually won me over. Creative Edge wrote:

Spectacular sunset light on the GFX-Pan, Bob, the boat provides a nice dynamic subject and balance! McMansion looks pretty massive, maybe this is a from-the-boat perspective, if so, very sharp indeed on churning water

Yes, this is from a boat perspective. I needed to raise tbe shutter speed to keep things sharp. And thank you!

Preparing some images for an upcoming exhibit. These will be printed on Acrylic, no frames, floating one inch from the wall.
Taken with the 100s and Canon EF 16-28 III

These have exquisite detail and contrast against the sky, Michael, congrats on the upcoming exhibit. I believe your last set was titled "Wizards of Jekell Island," from the interplay of the trees with clouds and water reflections, what will this exhibit be titled? (or are they part of the same set)?

Kalani, thank you..
The last set was "Wizards of Jekyll Island" that was a different set. This title is not as creative "The American West"...lol
and thanks for the kind words.
