Thank you Dan for your comments here and on the image of Nora. Yes, she is as gray as I am too!
She needs a new 4 legged companion Bob! Might I suggest you name him "Nick"? Get the reference?
Give her a hug for me!
Dan

Kalani, gorgeous shots. How do you like the 500?
Thanks for the kind words, Michael, I'm definitely inspired to try out wildlife after moving to Alaska! I am thoroughly enjoying the 500, 1.4x combo on the 100sii! I can only shoot maybe a few hours while out hiking on weekends, so maybe 6th or 7th time out, 3rd time seeing an Eagle, mainly looking for large (slow) wildlife like dall sheep, mountain goats, moose, bears... I'm still shocked how lightweight the 500 is. It's not ultra fast but autofocus doesn't seem impacted by the 1.4x. I have the x-h2s, 150-600 1.4x as well with pre-shot/ES, 40fps, but I keep picking up this setup. Ability to creatively crop, everything the 100RF is evangelizing, is also applicable for longer reach in wildlife and less pressure to zoom tightly like the x-h2s (I uploaded these quick uncropped BIF ones if anyone was interested in AF tracking performance). I'm sure AF and fps speed will improve in time, so the lens (for me) is an exciting long-term add for my existing setup for large animals! I think it will be a fun wildlife storytelling setup.

The Zeiss Contax 50/1.4 works really well on the GFX 100S II. Vignette is minimal and removed easily with just a slight crop. Sharpness is really nice as is 3D pop.

thanks for the info on the 500. I have been too all 49 states (missing Hawaii) and my favorite state is Alaska.
Love when you post as it reminds me of my trip there. As you know there is an abundance of wildlife and the countryside is extremely photogenic.
Here is one from my trip out there, hope you don't mind me posting. I am looking forward to going back sometime in the near future.

3D pop on the Zeiss Contax 50/1,4 is so smooth and natural with the GFX, Bob, and the nostalgic filmic edit works well!

Boston harbor walk at night, blue hour, all are spectacularly sharp with beautiful colors, dominant leading lines with the chain railing! Did my undergrad in Boston, even a stint at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (not in photography, unfortunately!) and these all bring back great memories, thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Michael, and absolutely love when everyone shares their work! This charging bear shot is amazing, and I hope the lens was long enough that it felt safe to capture! I grew up in Hawai'i and loved my time there, but am really really enjoying working remotely from Alaska. The 500 isn't for everyone, I doubt I would get it if I were still in Hawai'i unless I shot mainly surfers from shore, but the sheer number, accessibility and size of the big (slow) animals here in Alaska is awe-inspiring and I think perfect for the slower GFX system for wildlife (I'm contemplating adding a pure-wildlife system with super-telephoto/TC's, but still weighing opportunity cost, especially with pre-Capture as GFX will never affordably add a stacked-MF sensor). Really glad you enjoy it here as well!
Here are a few "story telling" shots exploration crops from yesterday, something perhaps unique with the 102mpx GFX, 500, 1.4x combo:
