Just got back from a nice trip (my first) to California in the Carlsbad area. Had to make a trip to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad, highly recommend it. Ranuculus are the variety planted in the fields but there are numerous other floral treats on the property to appreciate.
I also took my girlfriend on a surprise helicopter ride for her bday while we were there and we flew over these fields, wow what a sight to see
Here are some singles pulled from seas of color, rows and rows of flowers, amazing!!

Wow, beautiful pix...vibrant and colorful especially coming from FE 24-105mm lens.
I need to replace mine. How come my lens doesn't produce great pix as yours?
Being in SoCal, we at least try to visit the Flower Fields every other year. They are open early March till First week of May. They are located close to the Premium Outlet and Legoland.

But, did you go to Legoland? Nice set of images Karl. I've driven past the fields a hundred times but never stopped in to check it out. Hope you had time to explore the area.

I have been impressed with my 24-105. I saw outstanding results often from Ronny Olson using his and that lead me to getting one too. I am sure you will make yours shine as well
Early bloom this year so we were happy for that, simply stunning to see all those colors together!! We did not get to the Outlets and had not planned on Legoland though it was accessible from a private entrance in the resort we stayed at, listened to the kids screaming and the coaster running All fun though.
