Those buttons used to select metering mode and focus mode are the same buttons that were used for a test hack for the 300D that I was testing from one of the two guys (the infamous Ravil and Wasia).
Other than that, if the DRebel XT has the same image quality as the 20D and focus just as good, this could potentially be a great backup camera for those shooting with a 20D primarily. It's good to see that Canon did react to some of the larger request from 300D users such as MLU and selectable focus mode in the creative modes.
Now I'm curious to see what Nikon is going to announce as I'm sure there are more things to come....
its still a plastic body, smaller and leighter than before. It was a big improvement over the original rebel, but its layout and construction still much to be desired
I'm betting mid to late march availability. Probably kit only to start. It does come with the 1Ds MKII's software
Compared with 10D and 20D - I'm wondering how hard it will be to adjust ISO, exposure compensation, apperture, focus point, focus and metering modes.
These are the things I need to adust on the fly. Don't mind using menus for most other things. Would be great not to have to go through several menus to find the mirror lock function though.
It's so FUN when there are new toys around...
