Thank you! I’m excited to find more landscape compositions with this 500mm. It’s giving such a sharp, clean file and does not seem as prone to heat shimmer compared to previous teles I’ve used. I will definitely be using it on a tripod most of the time because I prefer that workflow for landscape composing and fine-tuning, in addition to being able to use lower shutters speeds if needed. But when I took these particular images I handheld so I could test out the IBIS.

Doesn't work like that. Heat shimmer is less because because you shoot through less of it or you magnify it less. Aperture has almost no influence. Lens choice even less. Except maybe a *very* soft lens could hide it or very poor Bokeh could make it even worse. What may work to a degree is lucky imaging: take a ton of shots and find the few than happen between the worst bubbles. Sometimes there is a gap in time with OK-ish ones.
Just received mine a few days ago, sounds like the OS jiggles when the camera is off or when not attached to the camera. wondering if this is normal ?

My Sigma 500 does the same. Many of my Sony lenses also have movement inside when not mounted on the camera, besides OS I believe some focus motor sections can also make movement/noise.
There is a ridiculous deal right now on our B&S forum for this lens like new at only $1975 from one of the best FM members (I purchased from him before), someone should jump on it!
