Even though the Q is deeper than the X100V (owing to the larger lens), I suspect if you don't use the Q that much you probably won't use the X100 that much either? That's just a hunch, I could be wrong.
But it seems, based on the used prices of the Q, that you could sell yours and buy an X100VI with a big chunk of change to spare.
I'm crossing my fingers for an XE5 at some point, with a 40 MP sensor and IBIS.
I had both X100T and regretted selling the Q. FF vs cropped aside, The Leica was much easier to hold and the build quality is outstanding. The 28mm is incredible. Fuji's offshoring production too.
I did preorder the X100VI. My question is about the hybrid EVF/optical viewfinder. I saw a video on YouTube from Gordon Laing where he showed looking thru the viewfinder optical and EVF options. It looked like looking thru a narrow tunnel with EVF on. Is that the case? according to specs the viewfinder has .66x magnification. That seems pretty small. Used to looking thru Nikon mirrorless EVF's. I am a former Fuji camera user. I had the X-E1 10 years ago. I forget about that experience thru the viewfinder.
Thank you

I have an underutilized Leica Q but I’m tempted by this simply because of size/weight. Seems foolish to consider another purchase when I already have a fixed-lens camera…
I went from an X100F to a Q and liked the Q much better, but the Q didn't have enough mp to use the digital crops so it got replaced. Later I was missing a Q so I bought an X100v in hopes of holding off paying for another Leica, but ended up buying a Q2 Reporter. With both around I ended up selling the X100v as I loved the Q2 that much more. When the Q3 was launched I out on the list and went to sell my Q2 but in the end decided to keep the Q2 and add an X-T5 instead. With the sigma 18-50mm it weighs the same as a Q3. With a pancake lens like the XF 27mm it's only 2oz more than a X100VI and fits just as well as the x100 in my jacket pockets.
If you're not using the Q much you need to think about why. If it's the 28mm being too wide, then maybe the X100VI would be better. If it's size and weight, you might be better off with a GRIII/IIIx.
I'm evaluating the X100VI as a Q3 replacement myself. I think 40MP (even APSC) is enough IQ, and I *love* the film simulations. Every time I use my Q3, I find myself wishing I had access to my Fuji custom buttons.
The Q3 is the better camera in many ways, but is it $4k USD better? We'll see.

The X100 vs Q conversation IMO boils down to whether or not you want to shoot RAW or JPEG primarily.
Q sensor wins the RAW conversation, Fuji Film Sims/custom sims win the JPEG conversation.
The nice part of the Q is you're starting with a wider FOV that can be cropped to emulate 35/50/75 with lots of resolution going towards that. If you regularly shoot at 28mm, the Q becomes the more obvious choice than attaching the wide angle converter to the X100.
I'm not super enthusiastic about giving Leica money after their recent quality control issues and bad handling of them.
I am thinking about pulling the trigger on X100VI. I might a day or two late to be in the first batch of shipments, but if there is a store that will give me a higher chance to get it sooner than later, I will go with that store. Otherwise, I purchase almost all my stuff from B&H.
How much of an upgrade X100VI will be from iPhone 15 Pro Max? I like Fuji simulations and the idea of doing little to no processing.

That's a pretty involved and nuanced question. There is SO MUCH automated, machine learning based processing happening on iPhone photos.
The general answer is that real bokeh looks better than fake bokeh, Fuji has a ton more dynamic range, you'll still be editing iPhone photos if film sim looks are what you're after.
Once you get good with the Fuji, there's very little post to do, and the jpegs can still take some adjusting in post if needed.

The viewfinder is designed to be used with one's eyes, not with another camera; so I wouldn't put too much stock into videos of viewfinders. The only way to know is to see it in person.
Thanks. I figured since EVF is same as previous model. I can get a sense of what to expect.

So I put in an order for an x100VI to have as a compliment to my a7RV rig to fit easier in a coat pocket or laptop bag, but now I've been offered a mint x100V for $700 incl accessories. More MP, IBIS - is it worth x2 the price for side/extra camera when EVF, lens, etc are the same? I guess my main reason for going VI would be the (much) improved AF.

I'd take the V in a heartbeat. The AF isn't bad at all if you treat it like a film point and shoot, AF-S, single shot, etc.
The other advantage with a used unit is that I can share it with my 14 year old daughter that wants to start shooting as well - harder to justify that with a new unit or my Sony camera.

At that price, take the V. Who is offering that to you, though? That is WELL below market value. We don't know what the current market value would really end up on the V now that the VI is out, but It looks like $1200-1300 is where things are selling at the moment.

Assuming you are not getting scammed, even if you are really interested in X100VI, you should buy that X100V for $700 and sell it for around $1200. This way, your X100VI will only be $1099+tax.
I doubt the street price for a 100v will stabilize at $1,200 once x100VI's become plentiful. Still, $700 seems like a good price - I'll take a look at it.

If you don't know this seller personally, it's 100% a scam.
