I'll be at Wakotahatchee sometime this week too. I've gotten my best images there before sunset based on where the sun comes up, but the locations of nests changes every year. It's an amazing place.

Good question. It was right before the sun was up and I was busy trying to find a reasonable ISO level. In retrospect, it sure does look like a precarious perch. This egret was busy defending "his" branch as others came over. Moments later he was gone.
