1. Your entry must have been photographed using alt or mirrorless lens or gear.

Canon DSLR using Canon EF mount lens is NOT alt.
Nikon DSLR using Nikon F mount lens is NOT alt.
Anything else IS alt, including all mirrorless systems.

2. Your entry must have been photographed during January 2024 for this event.
3. Your submission must be posted by 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time, 29th February 2024 to be eligible.
4. One entry per user per month.
5. Your entry must contain your top 3 picks from the last competition. You may not vote for your own photo. The top vote gets 3 points, the runner-up gets 2 points, and the last vote gets 1 point. Please include a short explanation of the reasons for your top pick.

January saw some REALLY thick fog for this area, and I make a small "liminal space" series from that night. This one was my favorite.

nah that doesn't work either, lost interest in soccer a long time ago, followed rugby until my local pro team went bust, follow Tampa Bay Bucs a bit (and not just since Brady) but 5+hrs time diff makes it a pretty nocturnal activity, anyway back to photos

Managed to kick covid, but the weather last month was mostly uncooperative. Still managed to get out for a good hike though. Got pics of a couple lakes, but since my last one I posted was Dream Lake, I'll do a different one. The slightly scuzzy feel is due to the ice that kept forming on the lens whenever I faced the camera into the wind for more than a few seconds.

Only got out a few days in January, but it's been a while since we had snow that was anything but fleeting.

Short note on PP: Processed in Lightroom, straightened a little, color and exposure adjustsments. Sharpened with Topaz Sharpen AI
Top vote (3p) + reason: bmike-vt - Great moment in time shot. Love the B&W processing, reflection of light on the wet street, and the razzle dazzle of the specular highlights.
Runner-up vote (2p): ruthenium - Also a great timing shot. Love the color juxtaposition of the storm with the warm calm pool in the foreground.
Last vote (1p): pbraymond - Like the B&W, nice composition and the interesting background melting away.
