I shot these in 1994 on Fuji Velvia. Camera was either a Nikon FM or a F3HP - lens was the Nikkor 35-105mm ais. The point of land is Paradisa Point, and in the summer the sun and moon rise from behind this Peninsula of land. I know these three shots were taken within a short period of time - a few days - same day?. Sunrise over Paradise, Sunset at Northport bay, and Moonrise at Paradise. They are all in one bay (1 & 3 looking left, #2 looking right)

As long as you don't open the back to look for the picture, you'll be fine. Lovely images! Welcome back to the slippery slope of film.

A girl to kiss and a box of Fosters—add a plate of nachos and all his basic human needs would be fulfilled.

Pentax SP1000
Somewhere along the line I upgraded from the SP500 to the SP1000. I couldn't resist the allure of 1/1000 top shutter speed instead of 1/500 and also a self timer. Don't know why they didn't just do that in a firmware upgrade

Tri-X October 1992, Nikon FM, Lens? I thought the noise reduction version looked better.

During covid I sorted through thousands of negatives and slides I had saved over the years to "someday scan." Bought a scanner 20 years ago but it was too much work. Finally found a local guy with a scanning business and in the last two years scanned maybe 2500 images, covering the1970s to the early 2000s. Here are a few shots from the 80s and 90s.

Most of what I had scanned were family photos, almost all from negatives. I used slides mainly for travel and other pictures. Quite an effort and I am glad it’s finished.

Leica 135mm 2.8R

Leica 50mm 2.0R

Nikkor 50mm 1.8 Af-D, Portra 160 VC

Nikon 35mm 2.0 AF-D

Nikon 35mm 2.0D

Nikon, unknown

Nikon, unknown

1969. Ilford HP4. My first year of photography and up until this point I'd photographed my university friends and pretty girls. I must have decided to try my hand at "proper" documentary photography and, as you can see, the results were pretty rough. But at least I was turning my attention to the wider world.

Jonathan, I rather like the above image. Not rough at all to my eyes. I love how each person in the photo is engaged and looking into the activity going on in front of them.

tomaswvtommy,
I love #5 - just beautiful light and color/colour.

James Markus,

Thanks. It’s always been one of my favorites. The light at the Mission in Carmel is magic. Been there with film, been there with digital.

Very nice.

It's cool how some of the shots in this thread are timeless, like this one, while others depict things that are obviously from a specific era (and sometimes a specific location).
