A few things I've noticed going through the old slides, I'm a more selective photographer now.
I had moved west three years before, married in 1987, so this was an early trip to visit family. My brother, Matt, was a no junk kinda guy. He owned one of the first BMW 2002's in the US. When I pulled my camera out of the bag and when he saw it, he looked at me and said, "That's a Leica!" I just smiled.

It was all I used from 1986 until 1991, so I have boxes of slides to go through. I scanned a bunch with the Plustek but lost them when the drive they were on died. The NS holder is a bit of a pain to use so there will be batches that show up randomly.

All these need is a old man with a Kodak carousel projector, sparkly silver screen, and a dark room to view them. As a kid my dad would do these "our vacation" shows that people actually came to see. The Kodachrome made it look like we were actually there - just like Simon's song.

This first one was taken by my wife.
Sunflower 1988
Pentax K1000, Kodachrome 64
The next batch are from Rusty's first trip to the beach. He was about a six month old pup at the time. Battery Russel is part of Fort Stevens, a costal defense built at the mouth of the Columbia River in the early part of the 20th century. During WW II, the cannons that were there engaged with a enemy submarine making it the only fort on the mainland of the US to do so.
These were most likely taken with a Nikkormat FTn, Kodachrome 64

A couple more from my parents trip to China in 1984. Nikon F Photomic FTn with one of three manual focus Nikkor ai lenses that my dad owned. I think the film is Kodachrome, but I haven't found the projector carousel again - Scanned these years ago on an Epson V700, but just recently imaged them.
I really like how the middle woman's hat lights the furthest away woman's face.

Some great images to see above! Let me go with something a bit out of the ordinary as I'm scanning this stuff from my childhood as we type. It's been a blast for memories I've long forgotten. Pictures are from 10 year old me, so not going to hang in a gallery 
* This stuff has not seen the light of day since the mid 70's - IIRC I was taking these in like 1976 or so.
* Film is 127 Kodacolor II - I believe it was only available in ISO100
* Stock is 46mm on short side but camera dependent on long side - This is wider than 3:2, so using a lot of film per frame.
* Camera was a Kodak Brownie 127 (Linkie). Looks like everything was in f14 from that site I found for the camera.
First two are moderately processed but nothing wild - I did cut them to 3:2 aspect. Last is unprocessed apart from the scanner and at the orig aspect ratio of whatever:whatever.
Grr... Thought Google Drive would work but not - Retrying....

I agree it's "going down memory lane." I shot a lot of film and some of it was never contact printed. I'm currently in "book 1" of 4x5 negatives. (B&W, and the binder has about 125 negs.) I just pulled out a binder of 120 negs, and it had about 10 pages that weren't even clipped into the rings. It was ready for contact printing, which I never did. Basically, I never saw the images except as a negative.
I'm still "cleaning up the mess" I left years ago. Once I work on some of the images, I'll post.
I also looked through some of the 35mm slide film from a 1984 Europe trip. Just Venice has a number of images I really like. A while ago, my Mom handed me very detailed letters I wrote during my travels in Europe. It'll be fun to combine the two hopefully in book form. At least that's the plan.

Here are some Kodachrome 200 shots. I only ever shot one roll in the early 1990s, as it was expensive and took forever to get processed. This was shot on a Sigma K mount slr with a Sigma consumer zoom back in the days when Sigma lenses were pretty bad. It was a very realistic film. I wish I had shot more (and knew how to take better photos).
