Autumn crocus on a walk today. 125/2.5 Macro Apo-Lanthar; Df
Not as close as I would have liked or the framing I wanted because I was shooting through a steel grating.
I realy love the B/W switch on the Zf. At first I didnt think about it much, in my head it was film for B/W and digital for color. I dont like menues and I want to decide if its a color photo or B/W when I push the button. And since I spend my days working in the Adobe-suite I dont want to spend my evenings editing photos. With the B/W switch I feel thats it's never wrong light or dull colors. Some SOOC Jpegs from today, Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 35mm & 50mm
Hey everyone, I now have the voigtlander 35 apo for my Zf, but subject detection isn't working. I have the Zf in the usual mode of Af-C (and have tried Af-S) and I work through the different focus options but I'm not seeing the different focus boxes come up and I can't get eye-AF. I put it in MF mode and I don't have the option to pick a subject detection (it's just greyed out in the info menu). I switch over to a Z lens and no problem getting the usual auto-detect modes.
I can get the single point focus box which I can move around and it will go green to confirm focus....just not the subject detection. I realize this is a manual focus lens, but I want to utilize the subject detection in manual focus mode.
Is there a setting I'm missing or could this be a faulty chip in the lens?

Ah - figured it out. Thought I would just place my own answer here in case others are tripped up by this. In the photo shooting menu, you have to turn the MF subject detection area on. Jack Wang has a great video on it here:
Go to 3:34 for the demonstration.
While I've posted this info, I highly recommend Jack Wang's YT videos......no circus acts or sales pitches. His YT video delivery is a balance between some photography history, technical discussion and street photography. Very well done in my opinion if you like this type of thing.
Great shots - the 21mm images especially. Are you using the M-mount version for this lens? After buying the 35 apo I think a wider angle voigtlander may be next but may see what they come out with in the Z mount.

I’m using the E mount version. It adapts quite well but it is very picky on adapter thickness. You’ll want to get an adapter that is bang on with regards to thickness. If you have one that’s too thin it degrades image quality dramatically (massive induced field curvature so that it’s impossible to get everything in focus). At the correct registration it’s great.
I’m using the Fotodiox fusion which is right on. It’s not a great adapter for AF but works well here. Only down side is that the Exif identifies the lens as “FE 21/2.8”. It still records the correct aperture used, but it’s a little odd seeing a 21/2.8 shot at f/1.4. it’s terrible on my Megadap adapters as they are 0.05-0.07mm too thin. You could likely shim the adapter with some tape though and it would work fine.
