This wasn't one of our skaters that I was capturing in Knoxville that day, but my camera didn't look away and a few minutes later, I was connected with the Mother who daughter was performing her first dramatic exercise. Mom was ecstatic when she received the photo of her daughter.
Thank you. I only wish I could have gotten lower but it was a spur of the moment shot. I took 25,000 photo’s of out home rinks skaters that weekend and wasn’t too excited to be shooting others. Lol.

Nicely done! Great image with the colors, expression, etc.
Suzanne and I were just watching the figure skating competition held in Jim Wilson's (MA2A forum)hometown of Allen, TX on Friday night!
WE love ice skating and I grew up on hockey skates before I was 5!
This is an excellent image! You did her proud! Am glad the mother embraced your generosity!

I am very lucky because I get to shoot skaters at numerous competitions and events every year.
I was glad the Mother did also. Even Grandma emailed me to see if I would be interested in doing video next time. I told her that I am really photography only but thank you.

You post fine photography here. I think you have the tools to do quality video. Just get a video camera. I have never used my dslrs for video. But have used a video camera and the camera really does a fine job by itself. Not that it could be better in the proper hands.........We are watching skating right now on tv.
