I’ll cross post my moon shot from today too. This on the Z30, as that’s all I had in the car with me and the light was perfect. I thought “man, I wish I had my camera with me….wait, I do have a camera with me…and the 180-600!”

Just took a quick trip to the Grand Tetons to do a bit of winter photography.
I would normally bring my 400 f2.8TC on a trip like this, but decided to go "light" with the 180-600. Even after dropping the Z9/180-600 combo on ice, the lens held up really well.. unfortunately, the Z9 is off for repair, as the frame rate dial no longer locks in place... we'll see what else Nikon finds when it's in the shop
Some action and some minimalism.
cheers,
bruce

Thank you very much...
My Z9 is with Nikon L.A. and is in line for a deep clean... we'll see what the bill looks like after they begin to go through it. I've had the body for quite some time, and while I clean it after a long shoot, I'm not terribly careful with it when I'm actually in the field. I'm sure if it had a shutter and mirror, the repairs would be significant. Because the camera is free of mechanical switiches and springs, it seems indestructible.

z8, 180-600 at 480mm, 1/1000s, f/6.3, iso 5000 | Juvenile Bald Eagle landing then falling off branch on an unusually cold winter New Year's Eve day (-11F) | Muldoon Park, Anchorage Alaska | There were 7 to 9 active Bald Eagles in these trees almost directly overhead, and I really appreciated the flexibility of the 180-600 zoom, even though I still contemplate adding the 600 pf prime. Thanks again to @OwlEyes (Bruce) for his experience recommending the zoom!
