I love this picture Gary. I love woodchucks. Most people feel they are a nuisance. Not me. I let them eat some of my native herbaceous plants
We once had one for a pet. My Father brought it home from work. It was the only survivor when its family was killed in the road. Dad pulled over, ran back and grabbed the one survivor. This baby woodchuck once pulled a long line of toilet paper from the bathroom and built a nest under our refridgerator. ha ha
We raised it to adulthood and then released it in a complex of big fields away from highways.

Crappy photo , but yesterday driving through the park I thought there was a large group of vultures cruising. When I got closer I realized vultures don't fly like that, and there's never that many together. Caught a group of about 100 Mississippi Kites migrating through Austin .. pretty interesting.

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher. From afar they're just little gray birds, but up close they're quite striking in their breeding plumage. These are the small birds I practice with before the big name warblers show up a couple of weeks later. (another) Blue-gray Gnatcatcher by M K, on Flickr

Picked one up last week and still getting acquainted with it. The excellent photos on this thread give me hope. Birds haven’t been my thing but I’m hoping to work on my technique and produce some keepers.
