A couple from today, nothing special other than walking around though the third image which was heavily cropped is of a red headed woodpecker - a rarity around here.

Was testing out the Zf with this lens, and it did Ok, though considering how incredible the Z8 is in the Bird AF mode, I doubt I will often choose this combination in preference to the Z8. Just a couple quick shots.

I go back and forth , it’s nice not to have to rely as heavily on noise reduction software with the lower megapixel sensor of the ZF , it’s give and take. I assume the Z6iii will be a good mix of both cameras , whenever that day comes.

Yeah, I thought it would pair well with the 800 PF at air shows and it really seems to work well. I have the 200-500 but that really doesn't work well with the extra long turn it takes to get from 200 to 500. This works far better (and a better lens all around). Really a great solution for me!

I did add a little vignette blur to this but even without that I'm finding this lens' out of focus areas much more pleasing than my Sigma S. My 400 4.5 is gone. Shipped off to MPB. Yes it was sharper. And yes it was easier to carry. But I'm usually at the long end of this zoom and switching out TC's is a pain. I have no complaints regarding the 180-600.
From this morning.
Didn't even notice till I started editing this Heron has something wrapped around one leg. It looks like cloth of some sort tied in a knot. Can't imagine how that could happen.

finally bought another copy... should be here by the end of the week I hope
ready to get out there kayaking with it. @sum1sgrampa@ giving me all sorts of lens envy!
Changed your mind about the 100-400S?
l hope to be kayaking with the 100-400S w/1.4x on Friday... I don't think this will be as sharp as the 180-600, but I am certain it will be more comfortable to use while sitting in a kayak and an ore on my lap.
